Generic Posted October 4, 2025 Report Posted October 4, 2025 Got a set of trooper armor I know it’s in rough shape and I’m already looking into replacing rivets and attaching peices without Velcro but I wanna make it into a shocktrooper and am looking for any kind of advice on what I need to fix or modify(I’m already looking into a soft belt aswell as new thighs and maybe shins aswell Quote
LoudDragon Posted November 20, 2025 Report Posted November 20, 2025 ok, I'm definitely not one to talk about this with authority, but I have to ask, how much did you pay for this? also how much do you actually know about different armor kits, sets and such? I'm just curious to know seeing this is your first post on this site. Quote
Generic Posted November 21, 2025 Author Report Posted November 21, 2025 Got it for free and I don’t know too much Quote
Generic Posted November 21, 2025 Author Report Posted November 21, 2025 Actually since I made that post I’ve both learned and done. Lot to start I’m aware this armor is basically junk based off what I’ve been told BUT just for fun I’ve been doing what I can. I got rid of rivets and fixed holes and cracks as best I can i have done a fresh coat of paint (still practicing) and have been following the CRL for the shocktrooper the hardest thing was the helmet as I botched the paint job on the first so for now it’s just a black series which I know isn’t approvals Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted November 21, 2025 Report Posted November 21, 2025 Looking forward to seeing some photos Quote
LoudDragon Posted November 22, 2025 Report Posted November 22, 2025 I was going to guess you had a black series in the pictures, I'm scarred to see what the one that came with it looks like, but glad to hear your taking the time to make it work, especially since you got it for free. I don't know the full extent of your project, but it definitely is worth the effort. Quote
Rob .T .[TK] Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 This set of armor is great for you to practice on , doing modifications etc , but in all truthfulness , there is no way it will be clearable within the 501st . don’t let that put you off , play with it , learn how to mess with plastics , have fun on the journey , and then if you are keen to continue the journey , you can invest is some more modern armor that you will have the experience behind you to build correctly and join in the 501st fun .
