TX-1138 Posted August 17, 2025 Report Posted August 17, 2025 My kidney plate appears to be slightly wider then my ab plate my assumption was just to bend it in and strap it in with elastic but it kept coming out and overlapping the ab plate. I don't think I want to do the permanent snaps on one side I would prefer to have it look the same on both sides. But if I must as a last resort il add the snaps if I have to. I tried to add a photo but it said it exceeded the file size limit Quote
Morgi[Staff] Posted August 17, 2025 Report Posted August 17, 2025 I've had a similar problem and added ABS tabs to my kidney plate. By having them slide into my ab plate, it forces the kidney plate to bend and align with the ab plate. Might be useful for you as well. I've got a closer look at the whole system in my build thread, if you want to take a look Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 17, 2025 Report Posted August 17, 2025 I added a block of foam behind my abdomen, helps push it out so the sides meet up and don't overlap. Some add a tab system to the insides of the ab/kidney to stop it moving. Quote
Wompet[TK] Posted August 18, 2025 Report Posted August 18, 2025 Similar to @Morgi, I added alternating tabs to my kidney and ab plates to help eliminate any overlapping. Quote
TX-1138 Posted August 18, 2025 Author Report Posted August 18, 2025 I added tabs made out of non elastic webbing that are attached to snaps but the snaps keep coming undone or come out of the webbing even tho I superglued them in, I'm gonna try Velcro on one side now so hopefully it stays Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 18, 2025 Report Posted August 18, 2025 With elastic and snaps try to use a soldering iron or hot implement skewer or similar that you can heat to make the holes, this stops the snaps from coming out of the elastic. You can also add some E6000 around the hole prior to adding the snap. Doubling over the elastic can also help. Quote
TX-1138 Posted August 21, 2025 Author Report Posted August 21, 2025 I'm gonna try that now. Thanks for all your help gmr your a great soldier to the Empire! 1 Quote
TX-1138 Posted September 4, 2025 Author Report Posted September 4, 2025 Hey Gmr I used your advice with the heat tool for the webbing and it did end up working for me, instead of rivets I used Screws and washers and FINALLY the kidney and Abs actually stay together, my new problem I'm running into now is the butt plate sits a bit low compared to the cod so I'm not sure how to fix the issue. Honestly I might not since you can't see it unless I'm not wearing it Quote
