SenseiFetter[TK] Posted May 5, 2025 Report Posted May 5, 2025 First things first: HUGE props to Walt at WTF. I purchased a replacement chest and back piece from him as the ones I had received when I purchased this kit second hand were too small. He had a different batch lot of plastic which was slightly more subdued of a white than the rest of my existing kit. He found and sent me replacements that were brighter but still a bit off. This is being fixed in the paint thread. Now for the reason of this post: As you can see the chest piece still sits a bit high and doesn't overlap the abdomen piece. The shoulder straps will be moved up higher on the chest as well to better overlap the back piece. The adjustments are all 1.5" velcro with the exception of .75" velcro joining the chest/abs and back/kidney pieces top to bottom. Are there some adjustment tips you all can throw my way or am I going to have to try and make an elaborate extension piece for the entire lower part of the chest piece? 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted May 5, 2025 Report Posted May 5, 2025 Tighter strapping between the chest and abdomen, if your cod doesn't cut off circulation to your manhood, do you also have a large gap between your backplate and kidney? We use elastic normally in places so it has some give and will allow some extra stretch in some areas while using tighter strapping in places like the chest and abdomen, normally I double over elastic there as it needs to be tight. GalacticGotham[TK] Posted May 5, 2025 Report Posted May 5, 2025 I also had this same issue. As suggested I replaced strapping with stronger elastic but I also moved and re glued the shoulder straps higher on the chest piece. That had the biggest effect on getting rid of the back/kidney plate gap and creating the iverlap in front. I'm about 6'1".Sent from my SM-A546U using Tapatalk Quote
JBar[TK] Posted May 6, 2025 Report Posted May 6, 2025 Yeah Walt's kits are built for troopers on the shorter side. I would find some super strong elastic for the chest/ab connection and also make some new white elastic shoulder straps to extend the spacing between the chest and back armor to allow them both to slide down a bit farther while still allowing the shoulder bridges to overlap.
