  1. A little about me: I'm an AEMT and I work in the Emergency Department of a large hospital. I've volunteered with Search and Rescue for the last 15 years. I enjoy playing drums and studying Martial Arts. Now adding trooping to my list...
  2. Looking forward to my first troop in a couple weeks!!
  3. TK-17300 reporting for duty. https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=43732
  4. As promised here is the color code. It is using PPG automotive paints. Since it is a custom color the shop stored the formula as: PPG JBPXA MIX-501ST STORMTROOPER WHITE The paint came pre-loaded into a rattle can for easier application.
  5. First things first: HUGE props to Walt at WTF. I purchased a replacement chest and back piece from him as the ones I had received when I purchased this kit second hand were too small. He had a different batch lot of plastic which was slightly more subdued of a white than the rest of my existing kit. He found and sent me replacements that were brighter but still a bit off. This is being fixed in the paint thread. Now for the reason of this post: As you can see the chest piece still sits a bit high and doesn't overlap the abdomen piece. The shoulder straps will be moved up higher on the chest as well to better overlap the back piece. The adjustments are all 1.5" velcro with the exception of .75" velcro joining the chest/abs and back/kidney pieces top to bottom. Are there some adjustment tips you all can throw my way or am I going to have to try and make an elaborate extension piece for the entire lower part of the chest piece?
  6. I tested out the appliance white but it still wasn't bright white enough to match the "Apple product white" of the rest of the armor pieces. I have since enlisted the help of a local automotive paint supply company. They are going to do a scan of the old chest piece and create a custom paint code to match. I will be getting an aerosol can of the paint and 16oz in a separate can that I can thin and use with my airbrush for smaller touchups. Once I have the custom paint code I will post it here for anyone else to use in the future.
  7. I will try the appliance white paint. I tried some Rustoleum High Performance gloss white that Trooperbay used on one of his videos, but it still wasn't a match.
  8. I have a bit of a conundrum. I'm building a ANH TK. I ordered a replacement chest and back armor piece from the maker but the white color is off from the rest of the armor. I'm having a tough time finding a really bright white. I've tried 2 different acrylic whites (Tamiya pure white TS-26 and Vallejo cold white 70.919) and have 4 more different shades coming to test with. Does anyone know the correct kind of white to match? My only other alternative is to finish the build then paint and clear coat everything the same color.
  9. Greetings from a future member in-process. I purchased a set of WTF ANH armor from its previous owner and will be joining a build party in two weeks. Did a test fit a couple days ago and lost my freakin' mind when I looked in the mirror. 7 year-old me thought it was the coolest thing ever! I've read a lot of good advice in the forums over the past few months and made specific purchases to make my trooping easier. A little about me personally. I'm an AEMT and work in the ER in Sacramento. Been a volunteer in Search and Rescue for 14 years and studied martial arts for 30 years. Looking forward to taking orders from Vader...
