Bikrtrash[501st] Posted February 10, 2025 Report Posted February 10, 2025 Thanks for reading my post, I am looking to build an ANH Stunt TK and am pretty set on ordering a WTF kit, but there is an option for an older Anovos kit becoming available.... Don't tell me to read through the approval forums (already have) and these 2 kits seem good for level 2 and 3. I am looking for input from someone that has first-hand experience with BOTH kits- if anyone has built both. Looking for likes/dislikes and recommendation/overall preference. Thanks in advance! Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 10, 2025 Report Posted February 10, 2025 Both could apply for L2 & L3. I find Anovos is a little thinner than WTF so more prone to cracking, like any plastic though it just depends on what you will be doing in the costume and how rough you are in it. Quote

Thanks in advance!Anovs has a reputation for being thinner plastic, and I've seen it yellow a bit quicker. The other issue I have is that it was sized for the typical sized actor of the 1977 movie (roughly 5'11", 170lbs). I'm 6'2, 250lbs, so I went with AM armor from Dave's Darkside Depot. WTF does offer some different size parts, ie larger chest and shoulder bells, longer shins, etc. There is some concern about the wonkiness of his helmet. I didn't have any issues, but I know several folks who bought helmets from a different maker or had Walt's team build the helmets because they had issues. But both are good sets.Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk Quote
Shanester[TK] Posted February 13, 2025 Report Posted February 13, 2025 I cannot offer much info on WTF because I have only ordered a few parts from him. I have been trooping in a self-built and reinforced Anovos TK since 2016. I do not find it yellowing much, but I store mine out of sunlight and polish it a few times a year. I ordered a belt plate from WTF to replace my cracked up Anovos part and it is definitely a thicker/stronger ABS plastic. I would likely go with WTF before buying another Anovos/Denuo Novo kit. Good luck! Quote
JBar[TK] Posted February 13, 2025 Report Posted February 13, 2025 I have not built an Anovos but while I do love the armor my WTF looks bright white in comparison to a more "cream" color with Anovos/Denuo Novo even with their brand new kits. It just depends on the ABS supplier and even those vary batch to batch. The difference is subtle but every WTF kit I see is a super shiny bright white which I love Quote
Bikrtrash[501st] Posted February 13, 2025 Author Report Posted February 13, 2025 Thank you everyone for the hard facts, that's exactly the input I'm looking for before I spend the money.... Now to continue the saving up part! 1 Quote
Bikrtrash[501st] Posted February 15, 2025 Author Report Posted February 15, 2025 Just ordered a WTF kit- couldn't wait any longer!! lol Thanks again for the input 3 Quote
JBar[TK] Posted February 20, 2025 Report Posted February 20, 2025 I think you'll like it! Every armor has its quirks so please reach out with questions. Again I love who bright white Walt's plastic is. It's also not too thick or thin and it just doesn't seem to yellow as easily or at all. The biceps will be tight and the shins are confusing but those are the hardest parts to work with on that kit specifically imo 1 Quote
