Darth Cupcake
So I've been searching for a while to find boots that will work for me with my incoming TK armor. I wear a women's 7.5-8, which is a men's 5.5-6. Needless to say, CA Boots does not carry my size. <_< So, per suggestion of someone on the Legion forums, I'm seeking out a pair of back Jodhpur boots to color white (I've been thread mining in here and I've already found some great materials on the color transformation; thanks!). So, since I figure I'm eventually going to strive for elite status (I like having goals!), I wanted to run by the current most promising pair of boots I've found... --------- It's a price that I can afford, and actually in my size! Crazy talk! I'm a little hesitant about them being PVC--do you think this will interfere with the color change process? My expectation is no, but I thought someone with a little experience might have some advice. Also, do they look like they'll work for the correct look, once made white? Thanks! SuperTrooper
Leather is hard enough to get white, but PVC is non porous and could be much harder. You'll have to paint them instead of dyeing them, and the challenge will be getting a paint that will bond to the PVC and still flex when you walk in them. I'd try a bumper paint first from an auto supply store. Good luck.

I figure no matter what I end up going with, I'm going to need white shoe polish to keep repairing your regular scuffs and scratches and whatnot, but I'd like to do the best possible job on the first go round anyways. Daetrin[Admin]
For a little more did you try barnstormers in the UK? They're leather & can be dyed.
synaptyx
If you need anything in the UK, DC and they're being awkward about shipping to the US, just let me know, ok?
Darth Cupcake
Awesome. I poked around Barnstormers a bit, it looks like a viable option, though if I can possibly avoid paying the currency conversion fee/difference between USD and GBP/shipping, I'd love to. Does anyone have a stance on these? ------- I'm excited by the possibility of an actually comfortable boot, and I'd like to sneak as much heel into my boot as possible to add height, but I worry that the heel might be TOO high, and also that the "hidden" elastic on the side isn't really compatible, as the screen boots had the larger elastic panels. Opinions? I'm waiting till I get paid at the end of the month/beginning of next to buy boots anyways, so I am going to be wandering stores around here plus haunting the internet as I toss around my options. Thanks! Edited January 14, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed
Daetrin[Admin]
I say "no". I still suggest getting Johdpurs and ensuring they are the right size. Wearing TK boots should be like any other shoe. I did 5 miles in my MC's and had no issues at all.

So I am thinking those wont work.
Darth Cupcake
Yeah, I had a feeling the elastic was going to be an issue. I'll definitely keep looking for jodhpur boots. Finding them isn't that hard... finding them at a reasonable price is a bit more difficult (at this rate, the most expensive shoes I own will be my TK boots!). Onward and upward! Thanks! synaptyx
My TK boots are the most expensive shoes I currently own. Crazy what this hobby does to you.
