Building the SE-44C Blaster - Resin Kit

Recommended Posts

I wanted to share my build of the  SE-44C Side-arm from 850 Armorworks.  There were visible 3D print lines on the resin pieces, but I did my best to clean them up.  Overall I am happy how it turned out, but I am concerned about the weight of the resin on my leg holster.  I will most likely try to source a different option and leave this one on display or for photo shoots.  I got this around 2017 and put it together in a few months.  Any comments or questions I would love to hear them.

I would think theres few things you could try to buff out the 3d print lines, if you ever decide to repaint / purchase another.

Besides going ham with a sander, you could try this technique kit modellers use, for making water. Though, while it works for this scenario, It may not for your build.

Because the texture is still too sharp, this will smooth the effect"

How much does it weigh for you to be weary of using it in a holster? Is it unbalanced?

Not sure where they got their model from but there are some unusual details.

I’ve created a couple of SE-44Cs now and by far the best kit came from The Imperial Factory (Facebook). It’s an SLA print. Lightweight yet sturdy. No sanding whatsoever. Incredible detail and so much fun to paint.

Yeah that would be ideal so I could mount it on my holster without being concerned about it.  I'll weigh mine when I get some time.
