What Armour Brand is for Me?

Hey Guys,

 

My name is Andy and I'm TK-1287 of the Neon City Garrison. I'm 20 years old and I have been trooping with the Legion since June 2006, and have had my FX kit since September of 2006. However, ever since last year, I've been looking into a more accurate suit of armour, I've really been keeping my eye on AP and TE2. My goal is to become an ESB Elite Stormtrooper, and hopefully to convert more members of my garrison over to better armour, or better helmets.

 

I'm just a little over 5'9", and I weight about 125lbs, it seems like my body size is almost perfect for an accurate suit of Stormtrooper armour. I know that there are many great kits out there, AP, TE2, RT, TM, etc, but which suit would be best for my particular body type?

 

I've been leaning towards a suit of AP armour. I know the price and I should be able to afford that particular suit of armour within the next month or two. What I really like about the AP suit is that it's made out of ABS, a lot stronger, and looks a lot better than Styrene.

 

I also know that TE2 is a fantastic suit, and many say that it's the best Stormtrooper suit on the market. Are these suits sold regularly, or are they done in runs? I also hear that TE2 suits are made out of styrene, how good of care would one need to take care of the styrene to keep it from cracking?

 

From what I understand, TM is the best screen accurate fan sculpt suit out there, but it's made for larger people, not something I particularly need.

 

 

What I am looking in a suit is a durable, screen accurate suit that looks good on someone of my size. I'd love to hear everyone's input on what suit would be recommended for me!

Well RT is generally for larger troopers but you can't go wrong with AP/TE2/TM. I'll let someone that knows more about TM armor chime in, but I wasn't aware that it was larger armor.

 

ABS vs Styrene, we have several of those threads around. Styrene will last for years of trooping just like ABS. The difference is you have to paint styrene and the quality of the paint job is probably what you are seeing over ABS. If your worried about the styrene cracking, just troop normally and you'll be fine, but you can't play football in it like you can with FX armor.

I wouldnt say TM is bigger... Looking at it next to TE2, its almost the same.
