wfeddern's ANOVOS TK build (stunt)

I have a ANOVOS kit from the first release that I have been sitting on for what must be almost 2 years now.

Finally getting some time to dedicate to getting the build done.

Following the ukswrath build thread, which has been a great resource so far.

Working now on the trimming. Have the forearms done, and next onto the shins.

Have trim done on shins, ab plate, and butt-plate. Will post some pics tomorrow. Using a combo of scissors and utility knife score and snap, which seems to be working well so far. Will need to do some smoothing out with dremel once the initial trimming is done.

I also have a pair of boots from imperial boots, and a blaster kit from doopy-doo. Just need to get everything together now. My goal is to be ready for Fan Expo in Toronto at the end of August.

Still need to take some pictures, but making good headway on the trimming. Have a few more pieces left which I will get done tonight (following ukswrath thread for trim order, I am done to the shoulder bells.)

Next will be to do some sanding to cleanup edges, then the daunting part (to me anyway) of how to tie everything together.

Sidetracked by life again for a bit, but have all parts trimmed up now. Some need some cleanup still, but will do that as I go.

working on forearms. Not sure if I need to be trimming/reducing the size. As the pics below show, I have very thin forearms. My worry is that already it is a bit tight getting my hands through. Removing the return edge on that end will help (since I will likely do that for L3 anyway), but I worry reducing the overall diameter will make it too tight to get hand through.

Looks like I can't upload any more pics due to attachment limit. what is the best way to post pics?

I recommend Imgur, use the ”direct link” and then paste it into the thread, do not klick ”display as link instead” when that pops up:salute:

Thanks, that worked. I guess it recognizes the links from imugr but not google photos. Here is the other pic.

Great:duim: And you can remove all of that return edge as it will help immensly with comfort AND as a bonus it’s screen accurate as well as a Centurion requirement:salute:

Was able to get together with a local 501st member and get some tips and see his completed kit, which has been very helpful.

Also had a eureka moment reading through the trimming sections of ukswrath build thread, realizing that trimming is primarily get the flat edges to the same width as the cover strips. I kept thinking it was more of a sizing thing, and was stressing over how much to trim (I have thin arms and was worried I would trim things too much, and its harder to add back then take more away).

Hoping to get more time soon to start trimming up and gluing cover strips.
