Jim the Stormtrooper Posted June 19, 2016 Report Posted June 19, 2016 I've been putting off the Modding of the suit for a while now, but to gain 501st requirements I'll have to suck it up and get on with it. I've tweaked it for comfort, but the overlaps on joins are fastened with velcro and the overlap is too big. Quite a bit of work to do from my estimation Helmet Is Ok for approval, still working on the comfort part and playing with it Undersuit is ok Chest, Back & Shoulder straps need to be glued. Currently velcro. I need to man up and commit lol Abdomen & kidney armour is ok Shoulder Armour is ok Bicep & Forearms - I need to finalise sizing these, trim the overlap and hot glue them shut thigh armour - I need to finalise sizing these, trim the overlap and hot glue them shut lower legs - Currently overlapping and held with velcro. Belt is currently plastic - need to get the canvas and mod it Thermal detonator - change plastic clips to metal Holster & E11 Blaster - These should be ok neck seal & boots - I still need to buy these So, not much left to do! PMSL.......Oh God! Quote
Jim the Stormtrooper Posted June 19, 2016 Author Report Posted June 19, 2016 A few pics of my current suit Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted June 19, 2016 Report Posted June 19, 2016 When you re size the biceps you should be able to save some of the material for cover strips. I would get some plastic for sale signs to help you make inner strips first. The hard part is finding the correct color plastic to cut and put outer strips on the legs and forearms. Quote
dejango[TK] Posted June 20, 2016 Report Posted June 20, 2016 all i can see is the sad looking vader Quote
humperdingle Posted June 20, 2016 Report Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) Keep the plastic belt for using as cover strips etc.Search "snagging" and it should come up with my SDS snagging list - a list of all the things I modded on mine. Maybe you'd need to do fewer, if the German garrison isn't quite as strict as UK. oh, and your thighs/shins are on the wrong sides in the 3rd pic Edited June 20, 2016 by humperdingle Quote
