shaunpug[TK]
Hey guys, I'm curious to know if this Airsoft gun could be used as a base for an E-11? It's supposed to be a 1:1 replica of an original, but I assume there are quite a few things that might be missing to make it an accurate E-11 replica...any experts want to weigh in? http://www.evike.com/products/50076/ \m/
elleerre
Good if you change grip. Assuming you cannot shoot to anyone, you could take away all inner components. At that point you spent some hunderd bucks for an empty pipe, I think it's better to buy a deactivated original sterling or bits of it, if it's ok with your local laws. Bone[TK]
You might want to look here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31522-stairsoft-sterling-l2a1-to-e11-build-thread/
I'm Batman[501st]
Short answer - Yes, you can use it and it will be fine. Long answer. There's an awful lot of inaccuracies with the airsoft, that unless you want something that will fire the pellets, you're spending an awful lot of money on something that is not as accurate as a $70- Doopy Doos.
shaunpug[TK]
Thanks for the info everyone. I'm probably going to avoid the airsoft rifles. I've seen some builds using Phoenix Props kit and a "Completion Kit" by another member (can't remember the name)...Does anyone have any experience with those? Is adding a Sterling parts kit into the mix pretty self explanatory? \m/
I'm Batman[501st]
Tino's (T-Jay) completion set http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28444-fs-completion-sets-for-e-11-resin-kits-with-worldwide-insured-shipping-and-paypal/ together with Derreks' kit which is mostly, if not all, cast from an actual Sterling only recently http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28047-phoenix-props-e-11-stormtrooper-blaster-kits-a-new-hope-and-esb/ Will give you one of the best E-11s possible. There is quite a few threads already in the build section using Phoenix Props or Doopy Doos and T-Jays kit. They all look awesome.

Would it be easy to put one together and then slowly add on "real" parts as I find them? Or should I get a parts kit for a Sterling and then see what I need from there? \m/
I'm Batman[501st]
Dunno really. Probably best for PP owners or Sterling owners to answer. I know the PP are extremely accurate and not really sure if a Sterling will give you anything extra other than weight?? Although I guess it will give you the trigger, metal on metal feel with the end cap, etc. I guess, nothing beats the real thing, but the PP is darn close (for a lot less $$ and weight).
