My First Build ANH (Stunt) [AP]

When I first got the armor I was overwhelmed. now that I've started, the nerves are settling down, and the excitement is rising!

a lot of the items I need are on order. Mostly I just have the armor, and a thousand questions all the time. I hope me doing this build thread will help answer a lot of the questions.

 

First off I'm starting with the helmet to get it out of the way for now. Still need several items like the mic tips to come in to finish it completely.

 

I spent several hours yesterday to file the ears to fit. here is the progress so far. just a small gap left. Would I continue to file this until the gap is gone, or am I at the point of doing something else to correct the rest?

 

 

here is a further from the front and then the back.  With the front picture, I'

m not sure how to fix the lip at the bottom of the ear.

I say stop right there with your ears. They look damn fine.

All the original helmets had gaps around the ears, and by trying to close them you may end up doing more harm than anything else.

Should he glue down the bottom of the ear if it isn't sitting flat?

gaps are normal, actually when I see helmets with almost no gaps its a complete turn off and not movie accurate.

Nop. No glue at all should be used.

You should glue ears if you make rotj helmet, but obviously you don't so use screws only( 3 for stunt)
