HIPS or ABS which is easiest to work with

I'm torn between a HIPS or an ABS kit. In your opinion which would be easiest to work with for a beginner.

ABS for the sole reason you will most likely need to paint the HIPS. ABS you can leave as is and it is gorgeous OR polish to a glorious sheen

I find HIPS a little easier to work with, especially heatbending is much easier, but ABS is sturdier and if acrylic capped, is shiny right from the start. I prefer ABS in the end.

I've heard the same as what Steffen said. The easiest and most forgiving to work with is HIPS.

I have learned a lot about both types.  HIPS is by far easier.  But to be honest, you don't need to paint it white.  A clear Laquer coat over it prior to painting details makes it just as shiny as ABS without a doubt.  It flexes better that ABS and if something goes awry, you can sand it and re-spray it.

Thanks for the replies, I am looking at AN MTK ABS kit Or the CAPS HIPS kit. But due to an unforeseen expense the armor will have to wait........
