F1guy Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Hi guys, as you know from the intros, I'm new, which is both a good thing, and a bad one. I need some help. I've been wading my way through the recommended forums about who to, and who not to buy armor from. I know to stay away from ebay, amazon, etc, but I don't know who specifically to buy from, what price point, etc. I'm not worried about sizing, as I'm the size, right to the pound, of the UK actor who the kit was modeled after. 5'10, 150 pounds (Thanks to my mother for the English blood) I've looked at several sites, and was shocked at the pricing. I've heard that original stormtrooper was a ripoff, so who else can build a full-kit that's ready to go out of the box, and won't make me sell my beloved GTO to own it? I wish I had the ability, and the time to mod a kit, but that's not my present situation. Any help here is most welcome! Quote

TK6287[TK] Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 The only 2 that I know of that can be pre-made for you are Troopermaster and RS Props. The price may be a bit high, but considering that these suits will be EIB and Centurion ready out of the box, either one is more than worth the money. I love my TM suit. It fits great and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. Contact Troopermaster(aka Paul) here on the forums and see what the lead time and pricing are. RS Props you can contact through their website and I know they will assemble it for you. Just make sure that you provide your correct measurements with whoever you decide to go with. Good luck! Quote
TKedt[TK] Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) just have in mind that you will be investing between 1000 and 1500 at least for something that will endure trooping. Check the FISD classifieds too. Because of your build, authentic props may be the best bet. their contact info is in the list , but there is like a 4 to 5 weeks wait. TKedt[TK] Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 jedi robe is highly discouraged to buy for being overpriced. However, it will meet basic 105st standard if you change the plastic belt with a canvas belt and replace the boots as well. You can contact the GML from the garrison that you are trying to join so he can tell you what can be good for approval . Quote
F1guy Posted July 24, 2014 Author Report Posted July 24, 2014 Thanks for the tips. I shot an email over to my GML Hopefully we can get the ball rolling. A question, can you wear the helmet with glasses, or should I look into having the eye lenses replaced with prescription lenses. Size and coloring isn't an issue. I just don't want to hate life when trooping you know. Quote
DroidHunter Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 In my experience it depends on the helmet. But I do know his who troop with glasses on. And you might consider building your own after all. Many of us come in with little to no experience, but we all eventually make it to the finish line. Quote
