themacalu[TK]
Hi everyone, just placed an order with Mark at AuthenticProps. I've been busy buying the other items I would need for the build. I've met some of the local troops in an event last week (Typhoon Hainan photo fund drive) but I wasn't able to ask this question directly to anyone there. I'm a super noob at this would you check the items below and let me know what other items I need to buy while waiting for the armor to arrive. I've basically taken things from the TK Resource Thread and from the TM stormtrooper armour build flickr page. bodysuit - already bought boots - already bought HUMBROL #21, #14, #15, and #5 - already bought E6000 - already bought helmet pads - already bought velcro - already bought ratchet clamps (4) - already bought doopy E11 conversion kit - already bought hasbro e11 blaster - already bought Rivet gun and rivets - can be sourced locally Snaps and snap tool - can be sourced locally Nylon webbing and Elastic webbing - can be sourced locally I'm based in the Philippines and sourcing some of the items locally might be a challenge. This is why I'm buying all the stuff I can buy online and having them shipped to family in California. Would you guys know if the AP kit comes with the mic tips and lens? Thanks, Marc Edited November 24, 2013 by themacalu
kylebeagle[TK]
Greetings and welcome!! I would imagine it should as any complete build kit would. This is another good resource... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ Also, TrooperBay is a good resource for small detail parts to the puzzle. www.trooperbay.com Best of luck on your journey. themacalu[TK]
Thanks Kyle! Now reading up on these tutorials by TK300.
Clamps[TK]
AP lens material is not thick or dark enough… this is what I replaced with. http://trooperbay.com/dark-green-lens-material/ Mic tips with AP are not very accurate… I recommend they get replaced with either: Keith's tips are great http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/4369-mic-tips-mic-tips-mic-tips/ Trooperbay sometimes carries good tips (not the "Mike" tips) that come from, I believe, Mark at CFO. Clamps[TK]
I would recommend you spend more time reading recent build threads for AP kits here on FISD. The methods and recommendations on that site are not in line with current build techniques.
A Master Builder
You are on to a great start mate. Be sure to get some rare earth magnets. Those will come in handy during the gluing process. As for your neck seal, Darman makes such an amazing product. This Link will help you out so much. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/6-ddays-combined-on-going-accessories-listing/ Good Luck
themacalu[TK]
Thanks Charles and Brenton! Saw your own AP build thread there and because of that accessories thread, looks like the wallet will be hurting until the new year..
