Bostonjack Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Heys guys and girls, So I started my NE build tonight and had some questions? Will post pics later tonight! So I started with the forearms and cut 5/8 cover strips then left about 5/16 on the edge of the armor itself. went to put the left forearm together and found it a bit tight. My question is how much room should you have around your forearm? should it be tight or loose? cant really get an accurate look from reference pics Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Mine was pretty loose even with the smallest cover strips, I have packed now with foam. If you can move your arm without cutting off circulation you should be fine but if it's too snug you could try some larger cover strips Quote
Bostonjack Posted June 7, 2013 Author Report Posted June 7, 2013 now to be 501st the cover strips have to be the 5/8 or 25mm right? that is what i am not sure on. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 No you can have larger cover strips, just depends on body size, the armor has to fit you, not you fit the armor . I have seen 3 inch wide cover strips on the back of thighs so a little larger on your forearms won't make that much difference Quote
Obey Wann[501st] Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 I am going to have to go the opposite direction, and cut off some of mine... I had an inch gap. Quote

I have been getting some help from a couple guys in the carolina garrison (thanks jason and chris) so i am not sure if i did this right or if i have to cut the kidney plate along that line or even where to cut this? i have been looking at screen shots they ar tough to tell because they have there belts on. anybody have any ideas? Bostonjack Posted July 23, 2013 Author Report Posted July 23, 2013 so here are the shoulder bells, forearms and biceps i think i have these right Quote
Bostonjack Posted July 23, 2013 Author Report Posted July 23, 2013 I know in the last picture the kidney plate is upside down i have since fixed that and i am not using the elastics as i was told it okay to use a shim. Is this correct or should i go with elastic? Quote
