buying stormtrooper armor

Recommended Posts

Edited.

I recommend you get in touch with your local 501st garrison (there are three in Australia), you can find the listings here: http://www.501st.com...s.php#garrisons

I also recommend you repost your introduction in the New Member Introductions section. http://www.whitearmo...php?showforum=5

Forget it, for 300 bucks you only get crap.

It depends on what you want: Do you want to join the 501st or do you just want a halloween costume?

If you are really interested in becoming a 501st member, start here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11538

A realistic calculation for a legion approved TK doesn´t start under 800 bucks.

Remember: You need more than the armor: Undersuit, neckseal, belt, boots, holster, blaster. These items alone are 300 bucks :laugh1:

While it may sound like we're being a-holes, what minuteman is saying is the truth. A cheap armor will lead to heartbreak (not being accepted in the legion) and spending more money if you want to be 501st ready.

These guys speak the truth, in this hobby you get what you pay for.

The vetted kits may seem expensive at first glance but considering the amount of work that the makers have put in not to mention the countless hours theyve invested in improving the quality and accuracy of the suit (and the legion by doing so) it really isn't.

You can go cheap and get a set of armor but 99.9% of the time the product will be of inferior quality and you will spend way more time modifying what you have just to get it up to par with the minimum standards than you would just assembling a good quality kit.

The best thing to do honestly is just take your time, do a ton of research and save up what you need once you've done enough to give you an informed oppinion on which suit would be best for you!

Also it never hurts to start gathering the smaller parts and work your way up to the more expensive/complicated parts :)

+1 to what Stuart said. You get what you pay for in this community. Remember that there's an expectation you will be trooping for charity, and the cheaper suits just fall apart.
