How big is the gap? Can you post a picture?

 

Its about 2" on each side i will try to post a pic soon

 

has anyone made a shim and filled the seam with ABS paste can you hide it that way?

I had the very same problem. My shim is about 2" also. The way I went about it is this, Glue your shim onto the ab plate and kidney on one side of the armour and on the other side glue it to the kidney but attach it to the ab with velcro. This way it opens up and is easier to suit up. I'll try and dig up some pics and post them.

Other than the blue trim and logo would these gloves work for trooping

I have the regular chemical gloves but the pictured one are alot more comfortable

Thanks to Timmy in my local squad we made a lot of progress still need to paint the ab buttons and some rivet heads

Rusty,

Looks great! A lot of people place the seam of the neck S-trim at the front of the helmet rather than the back so it doesn't show. Maybe this will work for you too....

You figured out your side shims?

 

Yes it didn't turn out to bad
