TK5492[TK] Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 It looks like a cartoon and you can't use it... Or can you? Step 1: Take a standard lamp and remove the shade. Step 2: Drill a hole in your FX bucket Step 3: Attach to lamp. Now after all this time we finally find a use for that horrendous FX helmet. And lit... Enjoy! Quote
Darth Hilarious Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 That is quite cool! But won't it yellow a lot in a short time? (and possibly melt a bit if you leave it on for too long?) Quote
trooper18938 Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Not if you put a real low wattage bulb in there, or one of the new flourescents. also you could cut out the traps and tears and mesh them like the Disney helmets. Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 That's actually a great idea for a novelty lamp. Quote
Spectre Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 There was a thread about this idea a while ago, but they refused to use FX lids because of their innacuracy. It'd be an awesome idea if you took the proper precautions to avoid melting. Quote
bluehickey Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Yeah, i'm not sure I'd want to actually look at an fx bucket that frequently. Quote
Spectre Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 I'd do it, but I don't wanna spend money on an FX just to do it. maybe one day if I ever really stuff up a helmet I will do it. Quote
Darth Hilarious Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Spec, you could always tell Bryce about this- tell him it's the best thing ever and he should totally get some other helmet so he can make his FX into a lamp! Quote
Spectre Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Haha yeah I could do that. I'll let him wait and see for himself how innacurate it is compared to ours and everyone else's, he'll change it soon enough. Quote
Griffin-X[TK] Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Cool, good choice for a lid conversion...! Quote
