SKUTCH Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Hey guys, I'll be spray painting my new armor build very soon and I wanted to get some input as to what paint to get. It's a TK-ANH. I want it super white and glossy. skutch Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Hey Daniel, I just recently painted my suit with epoxy paint, it's real glossy and durable but cures off white. I think for the super white glossy finish you will have to go with this, Gloss white and primer Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Nick is right. The glossy part will be up to you. Once the paint is cured, you can go at it with an automotive compound and then a cleaner/polish combo. You have to wait for the paint to cure. You will need about 2 weeks minimum before you can really go at it. Once it is cured, you can polish it out so glossy that it looks wet. Make sure you give the parts enough coats, though. 2 coats MINIMUM 3 is best....in my opinion. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 why would you mix plastic primer with enamel? wetsand polishing usually produces the best results. you should clear coat the armor and wetsand the clear coat for spectacular "shinejob" deathstar troopers. SKUTCH Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 Hey SC, can you fix the picture? I'd like to see what you posted. Vern, what would I clear coat the armor with I'll have to look up what wet sanding is? Would the clear coat be after the paint job I'm assuming? Thanks Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Sorry Daniel, I was moving some pic's and I broke the link. Right now I am painting with this and it looks real good. I personally fear clear coats. All that work and then you ruin it. This is the paint that I think most people are using. Quote
