is AM helmet 501 acceptable?

Just recieved my AM kit from mightytank and am just begining my build! My question is... i see that fx helmets are not allowed for 501st status... is AM different?

That is an incorrect statement. FX helmets are acceptable for 501st membership. However, they are not approvable for Expert Infantry and/or Centurion - both of which are optional costuming standards.

 

The AM helmet is essentially the same as the FX helmet, the only difference being that the dome is rounded (versus the flat dome on the FX).

there are at least 5 AM troopers with the EIB badge on site on the first page of the EIB request thread.

 

most have swapped out their helmets, but one seems not to have...
