Wiggleplum Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) Does anyone know what most lens material is made of? The type of flexible plastic it is, is what I would like to know. Thanks :S Sorry for my misspelling in the title Edited May 4, 2011 by Wiggleplum Quote
seantrooper[TK] Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 welders visor is good to use as lenses, I use shade 3. Light enough to see out of, dark enough not to see in. Quote
Dmian Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 The original material was Basic Green gel used in studio lights. You can get a sheet from Rosco or Lee Films distributors. It's a bit flimsy, but is the most accurate. You're eyes won't show, even in pictures where flash is used. But you'll see everything green. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I have a strange combination- green plastic acetate and one way mirror film for glass. makes for a sunglasses space suit style lens that is flexible just like thin gel acetate. Quote

quocle603 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Get the welder's shield only, it's like 5 bucks + shipping. Your best bet. Cut out the shape you need, then put it in the oven on a low heat setting, then take it out (flexible) and put it in your bucket for the desire shape and wait for it to harden! Quote
