BananoPower22[TK] Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Hey there, I was shown by some members the way to give my blaster some good weathering and I think I kind of got it. But i'm looking for 'reference' some pictures that you guys might have that show where might be some good places where I can give my blaster some weathering, so it looks realistic and it was used for a good while but not the type of damage like it went through hell. (lol I hope you can understand.) here are some pictures of my blaster (which was very shiny and i took the time, went to the store and bought some semi gloss paint.) cheers Quote
john danter Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Any edges will do. Not on the tube itself but on all the corners The ejector semi circular disc seems to be a hot spot. One or two scratches on the arm would be good too. The butt cap, places like that The shoulder rest (under the muzzle when folded) needs some scratches along it's edge to highlight it's a different part from the folding stock Edited February 8, 2011 by john danter Quote
RogueTrooper[TK] Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Hey Juan, just like John said above, try to scar up the edges and corners. If you weather the scope, use brass colored paint, since the real scopes are made of brass. Also, here is one I saw over on the MEPD that Graham / tk7713gra30 did to his Hasbro. He gave a good weathering look to it.(really battled scared) Link to:painted metal weathered E11 conversion-finished Hi all Took a lot longer than I thought but here is my finished e11. hasbro with lots of conversion and scratchbuilds, sights, counter etc I really tried to get that underlying metal effect showing through, no dry brushing. Hard to see in pics but the black has a polished effect, it is just polished and looks better than varnish or satin IMO. Please comment Regards Quote
tk7713gra30 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Hi mate, That was my blaster-sold now. PM me and I can give you a run down of the procedures, it's not hard but needs a little patience Your blaster is better than what I had and will look fantastic with a little TLC. I feel honoured to have been mentioned. Thanks RougeTrooper Quote
BananoPower22[TK] Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 I took some time today and decided to go and weather my blaster. here is the result I decided to go with the "went through hell" look but anyways, it looks really good to me. But the damage i gave to the hengstler counter looks wrong, i think i'll need to improve it and give it a more realistic look. Quote
