john danter
Hi folks, Just wondering where everybody gets the T track from these days and how much it is? What material is it and what profile is it? I've been sorting out my email and found I was quoted a mould at £75 so may go for it and get a load made up. That was in 2008, but I just wanted to see if there's be any point? (which is why I got so annoyed with GINO a while back) If I went with this, would I be able to sell 100m if it were the same profile as Gino's (which it will be) and was sold for £2-3 per metre, would that be ok? Let me know your thoughts on the 2 profiles below guys. Both will be in extruded rubber, not ABS etc This one? A ------- This one? B -------- John EDIT: I just rang the company and the guy I spoke to retired yesterday Good for him! His colleague will be ringing me back in a bit Edited July 31, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link removed no longer working
john danter
I prefer B myself as no one ever sees the underneath of these things lol B's profile looks like it will sit nicer than A
matt black
I'd be in for some. I just ordered some from Blast-tech. I had terrible trouble finding somewhere that has any. I agree with John, B would be best for me. Especialy for a blaster as you get more contact area.
john danter
Guys would you believe this..... Profile A is CHEAPER than profile B lol Why? Less material is used during extrusion lol. I'll have a proper final quote on Tuesday
TK bondservnt[501st]
why make them out of rubber when T track is solid?
john danter
It's a lot cheaper Vern I'll ask for a plastic alternative but I prefer the rubber feel
TANGO'D FETT
I'll ask for a plastic alternative but I prefer the rubber feel Yeah I heard that about you john
TANGO'D FETT
PS mate been looking at some reference for this and think you might be a little off with the height of the fin, should be taller, and maybe some slight slope on it too, pic shows the screen used stuff on the Fett EE-3 , should be squarer at the bottom too not rounded like B is --------- LMK what you think mate Found the pic on the net, hope its OK to use Edited July 31, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link removed no longer working
TK bondservnt[501st]
great example of all the BEST T TRACK used on high end props! having a rubber feel is not accurate and for making a prop the best it can be, there should be no change in the types of materials used. but that's obviously my simple opinion. I would always want to go with the best I can find... I have the sabrefreak T Track, and it's amazing to think that I might have purchased the incorrect type. and I must say that sabrefreak was excellent to deal with. john danter
Well I think I and some of us may owe GINO a slight apology lol, me included. Rubber tooling is £150 ish PVC tooling is £900!!!!! It's also more expensive than a rubber version The rubber will be very stiff if I go ahead with this. On the back burner for now
