zoidbergo Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 hey folks, I just bought a moncal ANH armor from one of the nice folks in the FS forum, and I'm very pleased with it. I tried the armor and helmet on, but wow, it really gets hot inside the helmet. I was wondering if miniature fans really make a noticeable difference in the helmet? My head is already a tight squeeze in the helmet, so I don't know how much room I can spare. thanks! Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Just wait until you get the rest of the armor on . . . Although I don't have fans in my current helmet, I have used them before. They do make a difference, primarily in terms of humidity control. The tradeoff is the extra weight (including batteries) and fan noise. Quote

Rob .T .[TK] Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 zoidbergo, Ima ssuming you havent trooped in teh helmet yet , You will allways overheat stood still , but you will find that most of the time when out trooping , you are constantly on the move , and the circulation of air cools you down , I allways fog up in my helmet when I first put it on , but after moving a few yards it allways clears and usually stays clear (and cool) whilst Im moving . I'm in Kansas and I did a troop a few weekends ago and lost 10+#'s , drank 15 bottles of H2o & did ( ok TMI ) not pee until the next day . I have 5 fans in mine . Thanks all for the suggestions, I guess I'll wait to see how it feels with all the armor on, lol. Also, do all the helmets have the same size head opening?
