I'll soon start painting my AP helmet. But before that, I'd like to have the build checked by the experts.

I'm not sure if it is built correctly. I don't know what I don't like it, can't point the finger to it. It looks a little "square".

Is the angle of the faceplate correct? Should I trim the eyes out a little more (ANH)? Or is it oka the way it is?

Thanks,

That's looking good to me.

Looks good to me!

Quick question, though: why would you paint an AP bucket? Is it to match already painted armor? Or are you going for the chipped beige HDPE look? Otherwise, I'd leave it as is!

Thanks everybody for your input!

Well, there are 2 reasons to paint it:

1) I made some severe scratches and small cuts while building it, which won't buff out

2) the originals were painted too ;)

Thanks,

I think what you're seeing is that it's sitting on the "flat" of the neck opening. You never see screen used helmets sitting like this... even on reference photos they're usually on a stand or tilted.

Have a look at the attached image even... just tilting your image make a big difference in how it looks.

Plus, looking at a helmet in person that you've assembled is always so different.

All that being said, I think it looks good.

looks like a clean build to me.

the angle of the faceplate determines it's overall look.

if you drilled the holes out exactly as AP has them then you get the

look he intended.

you of course can modify your faceplate angle to drop the brow, raise the brow

of course changing the angle of how the tubes match.

this of course changes the ear flange trimming for reducing extreme ear gap.
