Quick helmet painting question...

Hey, all -

 

This is probably a "Well, duh!" question, but since I really don't wanna screw up *another* helmet I figured I'd ask anyway.

 

Anywho, I ordered a VT helmet recently and I'm wondering how the paint sticks to the ABS. Was sanding/priming the frown/ears necessary, or did it go on easily without?

I've never had problems with paint sticking to ABS. And I've never sanded or primered.. Of course I have never painted a full helmet before. Just the frown and chin.

I painted my AP w/o any sanding at all. Should be similar.

The Humbrols stick to ABS just fine.
