  1. Hey Guys! I wanted to post these for everyone. I've been takin shots from the Blu-Ray disks and this is one trooper I always wanted to really get a good look at. I hope these will help. EDIT Sly11 (Unable to recover any of the images) ------------ Now even at 1080p, the troops are still tiny. So I'm going to try to clean it up a bit more and enlarge them the best I can.
  2. I can't belive this passed by me....look at the helmets. Is there a thin white stripe seperating the large grey stripe on the bucket? ...Everyone see that? It's in every pic.... or is it just me ... I can't believe I didn't see this ...
  3. Here's the vid. I don't know how they did it. I did find a YouTube video where someone actually placed the glasses on the lens of the camera!! I wish I would've thought of that! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXdSYcKMYmE&feature=related
  4. You bet. More to come. It does seem like they are mixing clones/TKs .. here's soome closeups and comparisons. Clones (EP2) Now ... But look closely at the Fig...and now look at this side pic (where I drew the arrow...and see the line? - the line in the center of the handplate..I didn't want to draw over it, so I did a line to show the direction of the detail) ...is the figure coprrect? Would we have to cast a new handplate? A ..Clone/ANH varriant? ... actually would look cool. lol...but still ... And like I said...I can't think that these guys were only stationed on the DS....so I would say weathering.....or not. I guess it's all personal preference.
  5. Ok...here I go.. 1st ... every SWW the Disney trooper's armor are modeled after ROTJ. Not to mention...on a TK shirt they had for sale there, if you look closely, it's a FX bucket (sink areators and all..lol). Disney's "eye for detail" just isn't that ...umm...great. With this being said...and being so used to their troops, I think this is ROTJ armor. I don't think the bucket is...BUT...it's detail (frown, stripes...etc) is also models after ROTJ. I been working hard on this project. I'm just totaly in love with this trooper. So here's what I found... Pic 1 Look at the hand plates. They are cut like Clones. See the sharp folded edge? And that is a DC-15 (../sigh Disney..). Also, around the Gaunts, is ROTJ "edge". I know it's on the chest..etc...but you can see the definition around the forearm. Also, the raised dots are really defined. Now the Boots, I think work boots are correct. You really can't see a "tread", but I would say work boots are very very close. Also, depending on the size of the trooper, the jet pack doesn't always sit "right" above the therm det. See how the trooper is somewhat leaning back? Also notice the buttplate....it's attached, it's not cut. Pic 2 Here's a closer more detailed look at what they did to the front triangle. Looks like they just dropped it down...nothing more. (?) Here's also another look at the handplates. You can see again the bend. Also, MORE definition on the forearm..again with the edge from ROTJ..AND...you can see it clearly around the chest and buttplate. Also notice the Buttplate is attached. This is also a better view of the rocket nozzle (I needed this one big time..lol). I also was pondering, resin? FG?...or pull it from ABS....well as you can see, ABS is it. Not only will ABS show those "smooth" corners, but the TK chest just sits on your chest. ABS would be light enough to attach to the backplate (and I think to the suspenders as well) to make sure that your not eating the chest box..lol. As you can see the chest box as well, it's a TIE. Differences are (besides the color scheme) is the bottom is a cylinder (not flat) and the very top "triange" is not present. Now, I know the pics don't show it, but riding Star Tours until 12am (even up to when they said "last call!"..lol) there are TIE gears on the side. I wish I can get a better rez image of it, but the 3D didn't come out in the video I was shooting (ya...I'm terrible..ha). I had my Nikon L110 running hanging around my neck on the ride. ..but 3D doesn't come out at all tho .. Pic 3 Ok..I know the CRL said "weatherd"..I think it should be optional. This TK is 100% new car waxed glossed..lol. Also, more defintion on the forearm. This clearly shows they might just have that ROTJ "edge" on all of the armor. Also, again....the buttplate is clearly attached and not cut. See how far it is from the underarmor? Also, it's well in line with the back armor. Also, the cod ... again...attached. I'm a bit confused by it. Here you can see how many dots are on the shin armor and also the knee plate has some pretty sharp edges. This is also a great pic to show the paint scheme (where the lines start and stop). Also, a great shot of the boots. Still, tread (?) ... could these be engineering boots? ... Side note...look how the shoulders are attached and is lifting the back armor up..lol. With the pack sitting on the Therm Det, I'd say this is a small trooper. Again, can't show you a clear pic of the gear on the TIE box. Pic 4 GREAT detail on the front triagle. Great side pic of the TIE box. You can see the rockers are all same. In other words, how the TIE one rocker looks like it's switched on and the other 2 look neutral. All 3 of these are in the center (neutral) position. Again, jet nozzle. Pic of the buttplate with the ROTJ edge around it. Better ridgid knee plate. High rez of the opening scene http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/TK7100/Sky%20Trooper%20Project/DARTHVADER2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/TK7100/Sky%20Trooper%20Project/5737572573_007eab2f82_o.jpg My thoughts .. 501st armor (troopers) are so much more accurate and better built. I've never seen anythng that made me "oh..ah!" from Disney. With the way they build their troops (..etc)..do we follow this to a tee? Or do we ... Use ANH armor being colored TK's were between EP3 and EP4...and leave the "edge" off the armor..and use a grey frown Cut the cod and buttplate, because it's the way it should be. Use ANH TK handplates Weather the suit...these guys can't only be on the Death Star all the time? ...right? ... Now if these troops are between EP3 & EP4, then the DC-15 kinda makes sence...I guess... Maybe it's just me....but this is a tough build being I know Disney just isn't the stickler for detail that us in the 501st are known to be. So whata' we do? Either way ... I hope these pics help some. I'm still working on the jet pack and a TIE box now too, and it's takin a bit longer then expected being I discover more and more deatils..lol...but ABS is the way to go with these. I'll post more when I get it, but it's late ...I'm tired...callin it a night.
  6. All ready started. Fell in love the 1st day of the 1st week of SWW!! Vader scene was the 1st one I got. Hoping to pull a prototype jetpack by the begining of next month. I just can't figure out what armor to use..
  7. Actually look like Clone/ANH variation. Just got back from all 4 weekends and rode Star Tours like crazy hopin for the Vader scene. I got it 7 times. I would say (which is extremely unusal)...that the fig is almost 90% accurate. I been loading images too. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v630/TK7100/Sky%20Trooper%20Project/ I tried takin pics during the ride but the pics didnt come out cause of the 3D. Some confusing things that I caught when on ST .... black frowns (?) ... But plate is attached, not seperate (?) ... DC-15 Clone blaster (?)... So can't figure out...is this ROTJ armor? or is it FX like the trooper on the Disney SWW shirts? .. Also...didn't come out in the pics posted here...but I sat in the 1st row the last few times, and the "TIE" box does have the TIE "Gears" on the cylinder painted black. Wish my pics came out.
  8. Nice work!! Keep it up! Can't wait to see it finished! TK Comm's FTW!!
  9. The blue I use is the same that most Jango's use and EP2 LT clones as well as 501st color. It's Rustoleum American Accents Ocean Blue...HD doesn't sell it any more...but Ace still dose ---------- I've used this on my 501st clones, and my LT EP2 ... It's almost a perfect match.
