  1. Unfortunately we can't get hyperfirms shipped over to the UK..... shame that..

My main trooping blaster is a custome made design from a UK guy called itchynutsdesign... (check out the pics in the blaster forum)..

My first blaster was a modded hasbro.... but now i'm also working on an all steel affair with genuine sterling parts...... no idea how much it will weigh though once finished.....

  2. Dennis,

Build seems good buddy..... another thing regarding the lid, see if you can put it on your head as the AP lid is generally a snug fit... sometimes people will cut off more around the front of the lid so you can get it on your head easier....

Another useful tip, regarding the ANH strips, i'd cut the excesses off so that they sit flat again the edges of the armour, otherwise you'll find that they will catch alot especially when you troop.... also they will dig into you giving your 'trooper' bites....

Just take your time, AP is not the easiest kit to assemble.....

  3. Well guys, it's gonna be 2010 in 6hrs and 13mins from now (here in the UK).... so Happy new 2010 my TK brothers from a wet and cold UK ....

Here's to a great year for trooping in 2010......

Pezza, first official Pic of 2010.... awesome buddy....

  4. Goodness, that's some great costumes you have there buddy....

Get yourself over onto the ukgarrison.co.uk, register youself, get your costume cleared and start trooping with us buddy.....Theree are quite a few guys from your neck of the woods in the UKG...

And yes, let's see some pics of your TK's...... (AP & TM very very nice......)

BTW, what version of Fett have you?

  5. I thought long and hard about whether I should cut my COD too but decided against it....... I prefer the rigidness of one piece of armour, it just feels more right to me... and if you gotta take a leak well so be it..... off comes the armour during a break time... nuff said.... lol

  6. Paul

You will find many of the UKG guys use a Nokia car speaker attached to their belt or better still under the chest plate.... The sound will be louder than mics placed inside hovis..... However, I prefer to have my Mics in my Hovis as it just adds to the realism of sound coming from the trooper's lid as opposed to the speaker on the belt.... 6 of one half a dozen of the other..... :)

BTW, PM if you want a set of Hovi speakers as I have a spare set going dirt cheap... :)

  7. Good advice from Darren there...... stayaway from online sellers as the best armour is not advertised.... (hint hint), there such a deep chest of knowledge here on FISD, just ask members and you will find your answers..... As a guidance here are a few fan made makers of the lovely shiney stuff (not in any particular order):

    1. AP

    2. ATA

    3. RTMOD

    4. SDS

    5. TM

    6. TE2

    7. FX (FX2 is on the horizon)

There are probably a few more to add to the list, but the above are the main ones.....

  8. I was watching IMPS relentless last night.. what a laugh that was... :D

For those who have not seen it, IMPS stands for "Imperial Military Personnel Stories...."

Basicially it's a fan made starwars film, well 2 actually.... the quality of the CGI is outstanding, the costumes... ok not very 501st clearable (check out the hovis and you'll know what I mean..... lol).... check it out guys... it's a blast...

Oh Merry Xmas and happy holidays to everyone.....

    Shiv

  9. Pinky ... did they let you loose on here too.... :D, was great trooping with you at Lister Hospital buddy.... your coastume looked great.... click click

Anyway, Craig... welcome buddy..... as all the UK guys have said, get yourself over to the UKG.... and regarding voice amps.. ROMFX buddy.... that's the way to go.....

You'll find everyone on here and UKG very helpful....... just ask away.... note, on the UKG we do not discuss armour makers, however here on FISD we are more or less relaxed, well actually pretty much horizontally laid back regarding armour makers.... so ask away....

And welcome on your StarWars journey......

  10. As an ANH stunt trooper, eventhough "leftie" is preferred option due to the position of the holster, I prefer to hold my baby in my right hand... Also I find, when in your right hand, no punter can grab the Mag or pull on the power coils...

I do have to think twice when I holster the blaster as by instinct I go for the right side....
