You definetly have way too much going on in your lid... like Mark said, less is more... If you are going to be wearing a balaclava too then you will roast buddy.... The padding looks nice though, but for the sake of practicality it's gonna do your head in (pardon the pun)..... I was on the NSC troop yesterday, the temperature was about 25c and man was it hot in that lid.... and I only have B&Q foam pads in mine.. I also have 2 very small fans over the lenses to keep them fog/sweat free...

On a safety note, are your batteries housed in some form of sealed battery boxes, as the last thing you want is the sweat from your head somehow shorting and corroding the batteries....

Do like that SDS blaster..... you'll have to show that to me on one our troops :)

Beautifully taken pics, you've captured the important angles well and allowing us to see the true beauty of those curves.. lol

Anyway, back on topic... what glues have you used on Paul's armour? I'm looking at the finishing strips and have noticed that they are glued so flush, there seems to be no glue overspill at all... I'm impressed bruv.

I tend to find if I use E6000, it lays on too think and oozes out when pressure applied. Plasweld I find to watery to work with...

Another Q, where did you buy those rare earth magnets from...I could do with a few myself.. lol

BTW, do yo think this will be done in time for MEM?

  3. I also advise you put an extra strip of snap/elastic/velcro on the bottom inside edge of the non riveted side of the ab/kidney plate (right hand side). It seems you only have it at the top, otherwise when you put the ab on, the bottom part may flare apart. Mind you, with the belt on, the tension will more than likely hold the two halfs together anyway...

Sterling effort so far..... love the return edges on TM.. :)

  4. Looking good there Stephen.... you've done a great job in the trimming department and I hazzard to guess not a dremel in sight? :)

Like the idea of using two snaps on the cod piece...

Steve on the elastic, use a naked flame and seal the edges, this way, the elastic will to fray...

BTW, what glue are you using to weld the plastic ABS snap holders to the armour?

  5. Hey buddy, to tell you the truth, his stuff ain't all that bad, there are a few guys in the UKG that have his armour.....and they swear buy it... You can even go up and collect it in person if you want, so you get to check it out...

However, the best bet is to buy from recognised supplier..... but hte downside is the wait... Depending upon your build, there is AP, TM, FTMOD (for the bigger guy), AM (the new FX), ATA.... and so on.....
