I've asked the guy who originally created them for the UKG.
I'll report back once I know more....

You'll find that the American accent comes easily with time.... well kinda.. mindyou many of the UKG troopers I troop speak normally, but some say, my accent sounds Canadian...and i'm from the midlands....
Which Rom did you get, the std or the pro?
-
Inceidently, my other blaster is a MR E-11 but that is way too heavy to troop with...
I also have a hasbro with a DD resin kit with a real D ring and i've dremmeled out the scopr rail too...
My other side project is a metal blaster with real parts.... this is on going and i'll get it finished sometime this year.... lol
-
Hi Rolf
This is my trooping blaster. It's made by a great UKG ...... enjoy
-
That lid is coming along very nicely... love those hand painted tube stripes....Ears cut to perfect spec, teeth cut out nicely and the eyes are spot on too..... keep it up!!

Stephen
You definetly have way too much going on in your lid... like Mark said, less is more... If you are going to be wearing a balaclava too then you will roast buddy.... The padding looks nice though, but for the sake of practicality it's gonna do your head in (pardon the pun)..... I was on the NSC troop yesterday, the temperature was about 25c and man was it hot in that lid.... and I only have B&Q foam pads in mine.. I also have 2 very small fans over the lenses to keep them fog/sweat free...
On a safety note, are your batteries housed in some form of sealed battery boxes, as the last thing you want is the sweat from your head somehow shorting and corroding the batteries....
Do like that SDS blaster..... you'll have to show that to me on one our troops
-
Definetly a nice looking bucket there.... the detailing on the faceplate is superb...
Could be time for a full TM upgrade me thinks... lol
-
Steve
Beautifully taken pics, you've captured the important angles well and allowing us to see the true beauty of those curves.. lol
Anyway, back on topic... what glues have you used on Paul's armour? I'm looking at the finishing strips and have noticed that they are glued so flush, there seems to be no glue overspill at all... I'm impressed bruv.
I tend to find if I use E6000, it lays on too think and oozes out when pressure applied. Plasweld I find to watery to work with...
Another Q, where did you buy those rare earth magnets from...I could do with a few myself.. lol
BTW, do yo think this will be done in time for MEM?
-
Blimey Mark, well done matey... that's a fine thing you did..
£350 great total.... well done again..
BTW, how did you feel in the TK suit afterwards? More importantly, did your lens not mist up? lol
We salute you!

I also advise you put an extra strip of snap/elastic/velcro on the bottom inside edge of the non riveted side of the ab/kidney plate (right hand side). It seems you only have it at the top, otherwise when you put the ab on, the bottom part may flare apart. Mind you, with the belt on, the tension will more than likely hold the two halfs together anyway...
Sterling effort so far..... love the return edges on TM..
-
Looking good there Stephen.... you've done a great job in the trimming department and I hazzard to guess not a dremel in sight?
Like the idea of using two snaps on the cod piece...
Steve on the elastic, use a naked flame and seal the edges, this way, the elastic will to fray...
BTW, what glue are you using to weld the plastic ABS snap holders to the armour?

Welcome to the first 100.... Vader's finest...

I'm flabagasted that's his put a £2.2K starting bid... OMG
-
It just looks better silver metallic...In general, any E-11 looks better weathered IMHO... just gives it that well used battered look..
-
That is definelty one of the better AP build i've seen....
AP is not an easy kit to put together, but once done, looks very very good....
Your helmet is spot on, you can't get better than that (almost as good as mine.... )
It would be good to see the armour on you, multiple side/front shots etc, this will also show how well it hangs....
-
Have voted too Boss....
Like the idea of the HWT and the TKC I think is just a natural progression... afterall the presedence has been set by the clones...
-
Leigh, drop Ged and email on UKG, (i see you are a member), he knows about this armour and he can advise you......
-
Hey buddy, to tell you the truth, his stuff ain't all that bad, there are a few guys in the UKG that have his armour.....and they swear buy it... You can even go up and collect it in person if you want, so you get to check it out...
However, the best bet is to buy from recognised supplier..... but hte downside is the wait... Depending upon your build, there is AP, TM, FTMOD (for the bigger guy), AM (the new FX), ATA.... and so on.....
-
Now that's a good idea, using a double snap and a machine screw I presume?
-
A few pictures...
Rolf... you tease...
It's so shiney and clean..... I think you have to dirty that bad boy....
On the dirty note, when you start weathering the armour, I think many of us shiney's would be interested to see the technique used to dirty it....

E6000 is the best, but make sure you don't lay it on too thick. It is also self leveling, so you will always get a uniform application. Once you clamp the two pieces together, you can remove any excess glue 'globs' after about 2-4 hrs using an exacto knife...(this is advisable to do).... full strength is achieved more or less after 24hrs....
-
Good news.... and happy it worked out.....
We are after all a family, if you know what I mean....
Well done Terrell... or should I say sir.....
-
Hi Adam
It's an awesome piece of kit eh?
Check out both mine and Obihahn's DLT threads here. Dennis has the V2 like your's whereas I have the V1 which does not have the drilled out holes in the barrel.... Just a solid lump of resin..
Good buy and welcome to the BFG club....

Animated gets my vote too...
Looks more noticeable and slick...
Amp & Com system with magnetic switch
in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters

Forgot to mention, the beauty of this system is that when you touch your ear for example, the magetic swtich engages and also lights up an LED inside your lid infront of your eye so that you know that you are using the troopercom and not the ROM. Remove your finger and the ROM engages again.... superb
