Is about time! You know that feeling you get at a restaurant when you come back from the bathroom to find your food waiting on the table for you? well I had to come home early from work because I missed the UPS guy on friday. ( i think he just came and left the tag on the door personally) Anyway I dozed off on the couch waiting for him and luckily I was able to wake up to his knocking. So i unpacked and this is the first of another package im suppose to receive. ------------- now i know what people mean about the FX armor manual The helmet will be for fun until I get my "good" one but im pretty happy. im overwhelmed and not sure where to start, so I am gonna go have a look at Daves videos first cheers! Maybe you guys can help me out. I went to sportchalet and they had them for 29.99. they also said "youth" helmets. I couldnt find the "adult" versions. thoughts?

this is a great tutorial, i would have liked to see higher res links and images a little bit clearer because some of the placements are hard to detect. If anyone is giving this a shot post results please

thanks for that reply. Well right now my armor is sitting at a UPS office and will be delivered to my house monday. I missed the delivery by 8 minutes I think of it this way, If this armor is acceptable to be in the 501st, if I scuff it up too bad, I can concert it to an outdoor armor. I also wont feel so bad about scratching it. But I definatly learned just from this purchase alone. I suppose I could have coated this forum with posts like "tell me what to buy" threads but I felt searching myself with a little assistance would be a happy middleground. I appreciate all your PM's and feedback. Last night I bought a hasbro E11 from amazon for 15 bucs and waiting on a response from the UK guy on the big auction site to reply to me before i decide to buy the conversion kit. Personally, when I think of armor, I think of something that protects you. I seriously would give anything to have even a short clip of maybe the emperor and his buddies brainstroming the armor. "well, we can just rely on the dark side of the force for a majority of the hits, the rest will be to look cool" ROFL that picture of the inside of the helmet, regarding the two square button? so uh, do you use your lips to press them for something? what do they do? Trying to stay on topic, I think the stormtroopers knew the armor was bad, and would talk about wishful thinking for better armor. If you recal from ANH while Obi one was working on taking down the shield, the two troopers he distracted began talking about some new model of something. I could never make it out but maybe it was for new armor :-P Ok, enough ranting my 2 credits

thats what I was going to do myself. Where is a good place to pick one up at? My suggestion would be when you dont have company over, put a sheet over it (black or a very dark color) be careful not to scratch it though there are those really thin blankets that are super soft you could use also.

lighter fluid? im not sure about putting *anything* that harsh on the plastic. the sun is evil when it comes to plastic, pretty much ANYTHING that spends prolonged exposure to the sun is going to take its toll eventually. im not speaking from exp from having a suit, only working with the stuff as a machinist. This thread has sparked a funny image for me. Troops down at the beach putting sunblock on themselves, each other but with the kind specifically for plastic lol

I ordered my FX kit a couple days ago and found this thread very helpful. I cant wait to get started. Two questions I have. 1. How well can you sit in the armor? and how difficult is it to have a bio-break? 2. Im gonna need a blaster now but not ready to spend a lot (just yet). here is the real question, what static sound do you record from? in otherwords, what sound would you use? maybe play one of the films and hold the mic up to it? that would make it pretty authentic
