  1. Got my Tix, just in the nick of time too. hurry up before its up to $75.00!
  2. I just got home from work and walked over to the hotel for some pricing. 2 beds for 150.00 a night (my price) 1 bed 125.00 He was a pretty cool guy and told me there can be up to 3 people in the 2 bedroom ones and 2 people in the one bedroom. he said on the 5th night it would only be 100 dollars. To give you an idea how close, I used googles new "street view" and looked up my street. sure enough, there it was in all its glory (scary indeed how google can just look at ya like that!) ------------ Anyhow I told him an estimate of about 5 rooms. He says he gets full during con, so just to give ya a heads up. cheers
  3. 55 before the 17th so hurry!
  4. im waiting on my bucket from them /me ducks
  5. all the guys can stay at the hotel next door, and ill runn a bbq at my place If your gonna spend the $$$ to get here, why not save a little on food. Kinda hard though, we are well known for having some of the best places to eat, not to mention i live by a lot of them. lol **If there is an opening on an apartment in my building, my landlord is pretty cool and might be able to work something out too. all depends.
  6. interesting idea indeed. unfortunately my pad isnt THAT big but being that the hotel is right next door, i suppose i could get some prices and walk over and reserve them. might get a discount on a group rate. If enough people show interest, I have no issues with it. sounds fun actually. there are all kinds of places to eat too. Im very centrally located.
  7. Any updates on teh Skullworx install? Im anxious to see how it turns out. Still am not able to find one on the big auction site. :-/

  9. Wow, thats huge man! Be safe and we look forward to your next vids cheers!
  10. I have to agree with the chef on this one, but also think of this Do you work out? do you think you have the potential of growing much? Do you plan on letting any of your friends wear it or plan on selling it ever? I say go with velcro on one side. you could always glue it later. i used velcro on all my seams, because I am working out, I want to be able to have the flexability if needed .
  11. Well here is the second update I lagged on getting up. For those who wanted some references or ideas its there for ya. Click HERE to check it out. THanks again to all who helped me out with tips and suggestions. I think I will still be fine tuning it and I look forward to my first troop mission cheers!
  12. i put the batting helmet padding just like yours in my f/x helmet no issues, lots of room (no surprise there). When i looked on the big auction site for skullworx i didnt come across anything. /me scratches head. I have a second helmet coming in about a month or so. woot!
  13. thats good stuff man, kudos to you. let us know if you decide to go with skullworx.
  14. but thats too easy!!! lol, thank you, ill give it a shot
  15. Wow, thats crazy, I took one off on the left because it was too close to the ear. that works out great!
  16. Wow, a whole day with nothin is it bad?
  17. 3 9v for 2 12v fans? how do you connect the batteries to the fans? you can make fun of my electro newbness when I connected 3 9v batteries (3 positives and 3 neg) to two fans (two positives, two neg) the fan speed was the same as if i connected one battery. I also placed my hand behind the fans to see when the fans stopped producing air the closer my hand got, and it was about an inch and a half. Im wondering if I should go to the other type of fans. The mini blower ones.
  18. Ok guys, Thanks to the wife on short notice, Pics taken!. I created a little page HERE so lemme know what ya think! Afterwords I couldnt resist a brief walk around the complex and after about 10 feet people were sticking their heads out the window and a neigbor actually screamed when I walked up behind her, lol. One of my neigbors who is from russia has never seen any of the movies (im working on that btw) so I figured Ide knock on the door for a face to face dealing with a tropper and it was quite amazing. Even with that short walk I noticed my caboots left some black marks on the shins. Time to go buy some pledge. I used to use that when I was part of a small pit crew at a track to keep the paint off from other cars. Anyway, thanks to all who have followed along, I spoke with my squad leader this eve here in SD and there is a meeting the 23rd. Im really excited! cheers!
  19. One thing I was pondering today, Im using 12v fans with 9volt batteries. Hence the fans arent blowing like they should. any suggestions on how to get them to run faster? Im hooking up two fans per battery. A friend from work suggested two batteries per fan. I think he is nuts though
  20. the spinning side of the fan touches it. the back fans, even though they have room to suck some air, arent blowing hardly anything. I dont get it. This may not be as easy as I thought? how many fans do you guys have in your bucket anyway?
  21. I recently bought 4 of these fans: and a switch, battery holder etc. The fans are DC12V 0.16 A So i figured it would be okay just going straight to th e9v battery. Im looking for fan placement, I put two in the back (which I planned on hooking up to its own switch) and two in the front, (also with its own switch) But they dont seem to be pushing out as much air as ide like. the back ones are placed in the bottom of the bucket so they have some air to grab but the front ones are a little tougher. So im wondering what are some other options I have. I keep my hair nearly shaven so im not worried about that. thanks!
  22. Well im pretty much done with my armor now. Yesterday I did some work on my E11, bought some nice fans (4) for my bucket, and have some minor adjusting to do that you cant see. I think im ready for the application. Now I know im going to need some photos of myself wearing the armor and such, how did some of you submit your pictures? did you have some nice ones taken? did you just take some quick shots? Thanks for following along my construction thread, im at work atm so ill post the another update photo gallery later. cheers! EDIT: In light of Weird Al's appearance here in SD on Oct 13th, I went ahead and signed up for the 501st on this day, Sept 2nd 2007 - 9:10 AM PST Im not sure what my chances are being a part of the show to help out, but Im pretty close to being completed with the armor. no more than an hours work. Woot!! /me crosses fingers for his TK# choice
