  1. Thanks for the kind words My E-11 Blaster weighs about 1.6 kilos, I dont know what that is in pounds though. But in comparison the real guns weighed 2.4 kilos or something, so its not that bad really.
  2. Good evening. I thought I might post the links to the tutorials I've made for the various stuff for this costume incase someone would like to check them out. My Stormtrooper Costume The Assembly Of The Helmet The Assembly Of The Armor The Assembly Of The Jumpsuit Preparing The Gloves The Creation Of The E-11 Blaster rifle Please visit these as higher visitor counts will allow me to upload more photos, and please leave a comment aswell, they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside Thanks.
  3. So the helmet in the picture above has black lining, and the Riddell helmet is white inside. What should I do? Should I either line mine aswell with black stuff or paint it black, or should I leave it white?
  4. Got my helmet And yeah its pure white And the thing about me buing the "flawed" kit - It doesnt seem flawed at all, its excellent, theres barely any thin spots on it, and the thinnest spots are still pretty darn good, so I'm very pleased.
  5. Ohh, thats good for me then, but not so good to hear for another guy I know of - He recently bought two AP helmets at full prize, and what he got was two bluish helmets with ALOT of flaws on them. I bought the flawed helmet kit for half the prize, and I dont think that kit is even as bad as the ones he got for full prize. Strange that he got older flawed bluish helmets then, makes me really wonder if I'm really going to get a pure white helmet thats any good. I did ask for thin spots only and no surface errors, so I might get something good.
  6. As my Paypal address didnt work that well, I emailed the AP guy with a new shipping address, anyway he said that he used the right address to send it to me, and I also asked him another thing in the email if he knew if my helmet was blue tinted or pure white, and he said that mine was the pure white one and didnt have a blue tint to it, so now I really hope that info is right. I just dont want to get my hopes up way too high just incase it is bluish, but since he said that I got the pure white one, atleast now I've got some hope for it working out.
  7. Allright, so here are the scanned photos of the helmet, front view and side view. ------------- As you can see, this helmet has padding in it that the Riddell helmet doesnt have, but I dont know if the Riddell has padding in the back of it as I've only seen photos of the stuff from the front. Anyway, this helmet doesnt really look wearable as there is a big blob of stuff on the front of it, but the text about these helmets are: (Translated from norwegian) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stormtrooper helmet There are many different models of the standard Stormtrooper helmets, with various special components that are changed with development and research. In this model (above) enhanced optical equipment creates holographic images of the enviorement, protecting the eyes from bright light and lets the soldiers see through various barriers such as smoke, darkness and fire. Optical equipment inside the helmet varies from simple lenses to optical vision prosessors. The helmets have cooling systems and atmospheric prosessors, making it possible for the soldiers to act their best at any time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, since the helmets internal stuff is changed all the time, we can pretty much build whatever we want, and since the text sais that some of them have normal lenses, I'm just going to use the green film that comes with my helmet and make the black foam as seen in the photos around those on the inside. Also I'm going to make most of the parts on the sides look pretty much alike, but change the front parts abit. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.
  8. I've seen that this helmet was different from the ones in the movies, but its not an FX I believe, the eyes of the FX are sharper than this helmet, this one is just a oneoff of some sort I believe. The stuff inside of it - it looks asif this is just some bad planned setup as it doesnt look asif one could wear it with all this stuff inside of it, so I plan on making my own design based on this helmet and the Riddell helmet, having the same-ish padding and parts on the sides, only the big blob of parts at front will be different. I can scan the photos off the book later today and post them here (if thats legal) (Probably not)
  9. Cool, thanks. Yes please share them here as the photos might be helpfull for other people making this. I'm not too sure what I'm going to use at the moment, but I know I'm going to recreate the padding on the inside of it, the riddell one shows a head liner I think though. But we'll see, I need to hide electronics and batteries inside of the boxes also.
  10. As I want my stuff to be as cool as possible, I've decided to build alot of the stuff that is shown inside of a Stormtrooper helmet inside of mine. The only photos to find of the internal stuff of a Stormtrooper helmet are two photos from the Star Wars visual dictionairy, and I allready have that book and the same photos on my PC. But, as some of you might know, there is a mini version made of the Stormtrooper helmet by Riddell, and this was made with all the junk inside of it, only thing is that all I can find of Riddell photos are of the front parts inside of the helmet, but no photos showing the stuff at the back of it, and I really need to figure out the padding in there. Does anyone own the Riddell mini Stormtrooper helmet that could please post lots and lots of photos of the stuff inside the whole helmet? I'm not planning on making it completely alike as it sais in the book that the stuff inside is changed all the time, so I'm just going to have the padding the same along with some other stuff. Thanks.
  11. Thats pretty good looking. I'm not sure when mine was pulled, I bought it perhaps a week ago, but he might have sent me a kit that was cast months or even years ago for all that I know. Thanks, I'll need all the luck I can get, and I'll let you know how things turn out when I get it.
  12. I guess its just a matter of chance then. I'll just have to wait and see when my helmet gets here. Hopefully it wont be too bad, and yeah I've noticed that the helmet colors didnt allways match in the movies, so it cant be that bad I guess. Thanks guys.
  13. I bought myself an AP helmet some while ago, and I'm going to buy an FX armor kit soon aswell, but in another forum, this other guy showed photos of his AP helmet and said that it had a more blueish color to it than the FX armor. Does anyone else have the AP helmet on an FX armor? Does the colors match ok, or do I have to paint the helmet? Thanks.
  14. Cool. I hope I can get my head into an AP helmet, but yeah, I will armor up, stand tall and proud Thanks man.
  15. Well I'm used to giving wrong or useless tips whenever I try. Anyway, did the ear pieces cover this gap when put on there? If its a matter of worrying about it colapsing because of the gap, maybe you could just glue down a sheet of plastic behind the gap from the inside of the helmet? If that doesnt work, stalk the seller of it, saying over and over - Can I have a new one? Can I have a new one? Can I have a new one? Can I have a new one? Can I have a new one? Can I have a new one? Can I have a new one? - Until he gives you a new one. The costumer is allways right
  16. I think I saw Star Wars on TV when I was 4 or something, just saw a TV commercial about it, then I ran down like a moron screaming to my parents that there was going to be a movie with a golden robot and other cool stuff on TV soon, then I recorded it on tape and watched it over and over again and thought the Stormtroopers were really cool and scary, but I couldnt really see myself as one as I was 4 years old probably. Some while later, I was a 1000% Star Wars fan and loved everything about it, and some weekends we used to go to these stores where they sold sci-fi stuff and there they had mannequins with Stormtrooper armor on them, and I thought they were really cool and started thinking about wanting to have one, but I was still pretty much a kit and lacked a meter or so in height to wear one. Many years later, now I'm 19, and since I'm a computer game geek, I sat up playing all the Dark Forces games, and there are lots of those, and all you do is shooting Stormtroopers everywhere all over, so eventually I got Stormtroopers on my mind and started staring at their armor in the games (As they were lying still on the floor as I killed them) And I thought they were just as cool as I thought they were as a kid, but now that I'm 190cm's tall, I knew that I was to tall for one anyway, so I didnt think much about getting one after that, but then, in the fourth game of the series, some taller TK's appeared that was pretty much taller than the game character and had an orange pauldron and a really big gun, so I started wanting one again. Having been researching around about these guys, I found many photos of taller people in TK armor, and it didnt look bad at all, then I learned that there was this type of armor called FX that was suitable for taller people as the parts were larger. So at the moment, I've decided to get one, and I bought an AP helmet recently and I'm hoping on getting it soon so that I can start this thing finally. And thats my boring story. Dark Side Sith Lord
  17. I think the problem with it is that you taped it together wrong having the face plate over the top helmet, but the top helmet should be over the face plate. Might make a difference when done this way. Just my 247 cents...
