  1. I am not sure what to say that hasn't been said already, but since finding this site, I keep going back to this helmet build and looking at the photos again and again. It's so authentic looking, it is THE helmet I would love to have displayed. Amazing work!

Thanks Chris for your kind words! :duim: I never have been told that"THE helmet" LOL, thanks again; to be honest with you there are a lot of talented artist in this forum, I just put a lot of love in this helmet.

AJCG - Your last helmet is amazing. I love the vintage look of it! Did you do all the weathering yourself?

Thanks a lot Chris, yes I assembled it myself. Also painted by hand and applied the wheathering pass. You can find more pics here-----------

  5. How many coats of paint did you use and what was the make of the paint mate ?

Well the first 3 coats for the HDPE color is Rustoleum for plastic Taupe color, then another three of Rustoleum Professional High Performance Enamel(silver can) gloss white. Then for the details I used Humbrol, Humbrol gloss #14 for blue stripes and for the vocorder, frown, earcups, teardrops and traps black satin #85, grey gloss #5. I hope this help you.

    Great job Armando.

Thanks Thayne. Long time I not see you....well I have been away from the forum for a while

    Thank you ver

y much Sir! Iam glad you also liked the photos :salute:

Looks like it came right off screen, great job :duim:

    Thanks for your kind feedback

That looks incredible. How do you achieve those black scratches? Top notch.

Thank you! I really appreciate it.

The black scratches are very easy to achieve to be honest. And also easy to remove if you gt tired of them.

I mainly use black rubber from the neck trim and brow( withdifferent profile cuts for different effects) and a very sharp charcoal pencil. I started with a broad stroke and little bu little I detail the areas I consider more prominent and expose to damage. I hope this help ;)

    Very nice Armando .

    Who makes that helmet ?

Is a TE2 helmet,Classic Cap and back but not the original faceplate neither the ears.

Fantastic mate, I love the beaten up look of the originals. This captures that perfectly...... :duim:

Thanks a lot Mark, it took me some time to loose my fears and brave and go one step forward with the wethering in order to get the "Tantive look"

Can not wait to put my hands ina CFO lid ;)

Thank you Paul, nice to hear that coming from you pal :duim:

    Whoa, quite stunning.

At last, some weathering that even shows up in photos! I was a little hesitant with my weathering, after seeing yours, maybe I'll go back and abuse my HDPE style bucket some more... ;)

Cheers pal! I love you helmet too, and thanks for your kind words. My CAP ESB has scratches has well but I might go back and acentuate some of them to make the scratches as noticiable as this one.

  9. Hi Guys

I have been working for quite some time on this helmet(on and off). After so many interruptions I have reached a point where I am quite happy with the results. I tried to resemble a tantive IV helmet the best way I could. It may look a little bit beat up but the tantive IV scenes were the latets one shot on the original star wars movie so the condition of the gear was not the ideal ;)

In adition I would like to remark that all de details are hand painted and there is no decals of any kind.

I also borrowed some details from my Tantive IV references like the two styles of hovi mix that apear in one of the shots when leia is surronded by a group of stormtroopers while she is acused of treason by Vader.

I hope you enjoy the pics :duim:

    Cheers
