  1. Still ignoring the fact that Dan, who did the work and has addressed your claim as false, you're still going to claim something you have NO backing on. Matt does not even MAKE molds or castings, yet you are still running a slander campaign. "HE recast(he doesn't make castings or make molds, I know I repeat myself but that's the theme, apparently) Let me repeat, does not even MAKE molds or castings. To those even considering this malarkey as fact, understand this: Matt is a nutcase. And that does nothing to the fact that he is correct. Gino has not cleared the air, he has spread a story. Dan has already explained what work he did on the suit molds, that he made...MADE the TE2 molds himself. Matt HATES the GF molds, and was actually quite peeved about the way they looked. I recall GF not being happy about them either. He cast THOSE? No. You want to believe gino instead of someone who knows what they're talking about? That's your choice. It's the wrong choice, but it's yours to make. This thread however, has been pretty much this so far anyway: Dan and Matt say what has been done, then Gino calls them fakes and liars and poo-poo heads who are just trying to sell their.....Oh wait, isn't that a little hypocritical? Call me cynical, but that link doesn't scream "objective party" It's screaming "IIII have something to sell, so I'll, how did you put it gino? "saying the other guy's armor is crap so this one sells" BTW, I'd like to get Guns involved in this. Something tells me that our thread might have some gaps. Toodles! JJ
  2. Uh, his earlier post stated that you got them in 1999.
  3. Thanks Dan! My mistake. Glad to have you on the case.
  4. Actually my master is a swordsmith and movie prop maker, I doubt he would know much about it
  5. Yes DAN, please let us know. I recall when the original helmet molds and parts molds were packed up for Guns, so that truly is where they are. JJ

With massive misinformation, AA plugs and further spread of his ever increasingly false statements, no mention of the source of all ANH helmet replicas(TE, if you forgot) and without the pics of the 7 ANH suits. I'm blown away. I've also seen these pictures before...it's called Google. Not what I would call exclusive. Oh please, can't I pay YOU for such a completely uninformative site? l'haim JJ
  7. An accurate family tree is a great idea, perfect for this thread.
  8. Now please don't take this as doubt or criticism(this thread is all about facts) but are you sure that wasn't the Don Post statue? They sold in Sharper Image and stores like it.
  9. ------------ This is one from a Toy Shop archive.
  10. Anyway... Marco armor was the first replica made, I believe coming out in the early 90s. Working from an ad from 1994, they were $1500 and advertised for sale in Toy Shop, where most collectors of the time got anything. There was a fair amount of costume selling in Toy Shop, including horrendous biker scout armor and TIE/AT-AT driver helmets. For the origin of the TE molds, I'm going to ask Dan for the story. JJ
  11. Sounds like a plan. I will include Dan and Matt in the collaboration to make sure as much history as is available is documented properly. JJ
  12. Sure! I'm always wanting to see things hammered out 100%, I'll take it on if that's cool. JJ
  13. I respectfully disagree. Daetrin is correct. The pedigree is simple, and I thought quite well known. TE1-only suit made from molds taken off a real suit; an ROTJ. Still is to this day. GF, helmets and parts taken from TE1, but heavily modified, some would say WAY too much. TE2-Modified ROTJ using tour suit parts as reference and new parts. I know the sculptor that did all the work and revision, so I'm more than sure on that count. I personally don't know much about AP, but it sure as shooting isn't part of the TE2 background. JJ
  14. I'm afraid your comment about TE2 being FROM a GF is inaccurate. GF came from TE1 molds and was changed drastically. Your molds were not part of the equation.
  15. No need to laugh, we did that enough Really impressive work Wyatt, you got done what would take me months to even design. Where does the motivation come from, that's what I need to know
  16. Comiccon hooooooooooooooooo! Can't wait, thanks for the tip! JJ
  17. Who asked about the person providing the armor, jeremy? NO ONE. They asked about the armor. Which is better was the ONLY question. Armor, not your personal gripes against people you don't like. Do...you...under...stand? Skoll JJ
  18. This coming Con will be my first, working on a brand new armor project right now for it, $55? That's it?
  19. Wyatt is a fast learner, that's for sure Nice looking molds!
  20. ...being sued, am telling fibs...
  21. I gave TE some stuff for a home theater, free for me, and he forced a suit on me Edit: I know that's not much of a story, but it's kind of like the action of a dry mop; until it gets a little damp it doesn't work. I hadn't much interest in getting a suit despite having known Matt for a couple of years. If he hadn't offered me one, I probably still wouldn't have one. I thought it was cool as hell that he made armor and helmets, just didn't have an urge to own any. Then a con was coming up in the area back in 2002, and the thought of sporting new armor became intriguing. So I bought strapping and the various stuff, got a blaster, picked the holster off my earlier RG outfit and used it, etc. One night of fitting and beer and BOOM!: Got the gloves the day of the con, met some of the guys there, but learned that hotel security was being a pack of psychos and shut down anyone with guns and most with masks.... Well that didn't work out so well, but trooping the day of the Sci-Fi Museum's opening after the rest of the costumes had left was awesome Got my pic taken a dozen times before being told we couldn't do that. Can't go back now. JJ
  22. It's a cleaned up ROTJ suit. It's not screen accurate. Is this thing on?
  23. FORMED the parts for the originals, yes
