  1. LOL some picture! We're quite far gone as we're looking at a guy tumbling over and all we're interested in are the colors of his soles. Being a Star Wars geek rocks!
  2. I do citrix tech support where people call normal networked PC's 'standalones' cos they're used to using a thin client. Colleauge of mine once had an incident where a client had troubles printing. He asked if it was a color printer or not. He put the call on speakerphone so you could hear the client walk to the printer and back again. The reply: "No, its grey." *sighs* Guess I don't need to tell you guys when I made that compendium . On topic: It's nice to see an ATA brother. My armor is STILL in customs dag nabbit. Will prime the helmet today probably. Keep up the good work JB! Vincent
  3. Well, checking up on the EVO trooper, he has to wear several canisters on his armor instead of just one. I wouldn't want to walk around a highly acidic planet with a lot of bombs strapped to my limbs!
  4. Got any pics? That hybrid sounds intruiging.
  5. They're battledroids I tell ye! *runs off in a panic*
  6. They tucked it in their O2 Cannister/Thermal Detonator! Everybody got it wrooong! It's a miniature clothes storage!
  7. 200 frakkin dollars?! I'm buying el cheapo black jodphurs for 25 euro's and paint em white. Armor is still on its way, gonna take 30 days due to customs being pricks
  8. Everybody took the elevator to the cantina to watch Darth fight his old master on widescreen while popping a cold one.
  9. Stormtrooper armor was fitted with air filters and fully sealed against chemical and biological attack; the armor could even protect the wearer against vacuum for a limited time. A back-mounted tank contained 20 minutes of emergency oxygen. The aforementioned body glove also provided limited thermal protection. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Stormtrooper_armor Supposedly taken from The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology
  10. That would make 'em space ninja's!!! I recall playing some game where every enemy exploded like mad when shot. The manual said it was because they all carried a bomb inside their body or whatever to prevent tech from falling in the wrong hands... I always found it a cheap excuses to add more explosions...
  11. No idea, it is in the neighbourhood though. Let's hope my suit arrives before then. Customs say it can take 30 days before it's cleared :S meaning it will be here sept 8th.
  12. Ich bin ein Berlinertrooper and all . Well UK might be an option. Planning to go there on a holiday next year or such. Germany is an option as well
  13. Well, judging the way the dutch garrisson has been replying to my mails I think I'd be glad to troop twice a year lol. Thanks for all the tips so far! P.S. Helmet is done with assembling! Now the paint and primer
  14. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TK-421 Dunno how canon this is?
  15. Hey there fellow troopers! I was working on my ATA helmet the other day and the plastic cracked right near the right trapezoid on the front (for the viewers, left) during sanding. Truth be told I was expecting a bit thicker and sturdier plastic, as I am possibly spoiled owning a MRCE helmet (which I think might replace the ATA after all). My armor is still in the mail (I reckon, as it's been in customs for 7 days now and the cleck says it's gonna take 30 more days cos it wasn't an Express Mail Shipment ), so I can't judge about that but still... I am afraid my armor won't last me long knowing the way I bump into things. So here's a quick question for all you veterans and knowledgeable newbies: Is there a safe and good way to re-inforce your HIPS armor so it doesn't bend/crack or whatever so easily? Or should I just fess up and get ABS :S. Vincent
  16. Might want to right-click the links and select Save As... sometimes it botches up like that. Checked the FTP this morning, files should be accessible. Vincent
  17. Curious about that too. Though I gather from the TE lineage you just stick TE2 decals on em?
  18. Yeah forgot to mention that. It's updated now
  19. This was just a thing for my own personal use when working on armor (which is still in customs ), so yeah I will finetune it. The PDF option is certainly a viable one as I also want to make it look more spiffy, and PDF allows for that. Right now it's weekend, cousin in law getting christened/baptized and hopefully my armor will arrive tomorrow hopefully, so I may not have time (or motivation regarding my armor is arriving soon ) to work on it ASAP, but it's in the tubes so to say. Please feel free to add tips and tricks and whatevernot to add to the compendium, and thanks for the positive feedback
  20. This is a compendium made by me in expectation of my own armor, to use as a reference and guide in building it. I combined several tutorials and tips I found on the forums to use as a guideline during my journey into the world of white armor. Special thanks go out to my girlfriend who motivated me to make a reference book. Authors of the tutorials are mentioned next to the chapters, and a hyperlink to the source is included in the chapter name. (Ctrl+)Click it and you will be sent to the original source post or website. I tried to credit all of those people who contributed to this, if I forgot someone by accident or don’t like your work pasted in this printable compendium, please let me know. Click here and select Download: ----- ----- If needed I can try and spiffy things up a bit with backgrounds and designs and turn it into a functional webpage. Feedback is welcome in both PM as in this topic! [uPDATE] removed duplicate items, added PDF format -Vincent aka Merugear P.S. who hated it? feedback is welcome I'm all in for improvements!
  21. Good luck mate! Should wear your helmet to hide the wincing
  22. Bought my final addition to the X-files DVD's collection and to my Zelda collection... I am now truly an ubergeek. I own all Zelda games ever made, including (but not limited to) Tingle's Balloon Fight, the Game & Watch version of Zelda, and even a frigging Zelda Watch with a Zelda LCD game in it. Not to mention the Super Famicom Disk System originals and the horrendous CD-I versions of the series. Yay! Also been trimming my ATA helmet. It worked out ok though somehow I think the cap is too big for the front... Now... sleep.
  23. Is that the one also known as The Death Star/The Stormtrooper by the London Symphony Orchestra?
  24. why not check under stormtrooper commander on the forums? There's an entire subforum dedicated to it, even a CRL. welcome to FISD by the way
