  1. Those are shots of my suit! So my biceps and forearms are biting. so I have to break and shim them to get rid of the pinches. Since I'm doing this, it means I'll need to repaint anyhow. So I can correct my arm lines, and can probably get the calf line and back correct in the process too. Look for updated pics soon. Stickmonkey
  2. Yes. But maybe not for TKC EIB standards. It is exactly as mine was painted and I was accepted with no changes.
  3. Congratulations on that. It looks great, there. I'm glad I could be of some help, and sorry we didn't have the proper frame of mind for the CRL, or I think you could have hit EIB on your first shot (darn unpainted in game butt plate)...aside from the helmet... ha whatever. You should be proud its a fine set of armor.
  4. It's pretty common conception that the TKCs were old clones still around at the time of the stormtroopers. More than one of the books out make mention of that.
  5. I've said it before, but Krylon True Blue over Krylon Navy is a much better match to the game coloring than the Dupicolor Royal Blue. Are we suggesting Duplicolor to be consistent with the 501st Clones?
  6. My point was not that the other sources are right...it's that they weren't wrong. The character as a concept may have been introduced in the game, but we have books, graphic novels, toys, etc. all as additional references. I just didn't think all of those should be thrown out. thru my entire build and legion approval, I made it very clear it was based on the sideshow pattern, knowing it differed from the game versions. it is what it is and it was approved as such. shrug.
  7. From the new reference material, it looks like my arm stripes and butt plate are incorrect, but the rest of my paint is correct to th game. The unfortunate part is with all the effort put into weathering, I doubt I'll go back to correct them. The public at large won't know...and likely wont know the character anyhow. And I have other more canon costumes I've moved on to to get right... In the end, it's whether you are happy with your personal costume. If so, then great. If it's good enough for the 501st all the better.
  8. Meh. I'm not trying to be difficult here. I really dont care. To me this is a clipping issue in the image...clipping into the forcefield or not it looks like the bells are missing and the bicep is low on the left arm. I'm not planning to try to get EIB with a EU costume anyhow, and I think having an EIB standard for a minor EU game character is a bit silly, personally. This was just meant to be a fun costume alternative for me. I'm not joining any holy wars for it. You guys do what you want then. I was trying to offer my opinion on this, not solicit personal attacks.
  9. This is what I'm talking about. This happens all the time still in modern games. Hell, LFL couldn't avoid clipping problems in EIII with the GM scene. So I do believe we have to do best approximation in some cases. After my armor was approved and later weathered, I realized I have the blue stripe continued on my buttplate...similar to the ab plate. This is not conon to the game, but I have other projects ongoing now and haven't decided to fix it for now... --------------- In this image the shoulder bells are missing and one bicep looks like it slid down to the forearm. So does that mean bells are optional? Of course not, there is clearly an intent for them to be there. But the game engine failed in this moment. That's really all I was commenting on. I wouldn't make the CRL so restrictive to exclude additional members based on something like the gg bust or the sideshow toy. Those are much clearer references, even with their inaccuracies, than most of the screen captures. For that matter, My weathering included a bloody ewok print...ewoks did not appear in the game, nor have I ever seen blood splatter as acceptable other than Sev...which was what I put mine on as a homage for.
  10. I appreciate the warning, but I was approved in March with my TKC and based all the striping off the sideshow toy model. When looking to the video game as reference, you have to remember the digital models stretch and shift based on movement and in the various versions of the game there are inconsistencies in the skins because they were developed by different companies. I dont find video game captures accurate for very much as a rule. Now I did see we got an original rendering as reference, and it is a much better source to work from for now.
  11. I am approved. And was approved pre-weathering. My set is ANH. So as far as I know ANH is fine.
  12. The sideshowtoy shots and at least one in game reference shot show 3 stripes on the bicep. 2 on the forearm.
  13. Looks like Gentle Giant is doing a bust as well. White hand plates...
  14. I put up a detailed post on the show off thread, should give you all the detail you need.
