Am I the only one that thought how Vader walked in the trailer looked "off"? Too much sway in the shoulders, needs to be more rigid to look like it did in the movies IMO.

Glad to see you made it over here. -
I have the same one, can you show me the back of your TK on how you have the metal rod going into the back of your TK? Thanks.

ANH stormtrooper gloves alternative

Nomex gloves 100% -
I have RS PVC armor and I love it. Most in my garrison have ABS and when I see pictures of myself standing next to them, I can see that mine is much whiter and shinier. Personally, I like that. When I see the Garrison Stormtroopers in the movies, I envision bright white, shiny armor. I am 100% happy with the PVC and know I would be a little disappointed if I got ABS. Really comes down to personal preference and which you like more, really no wrong answer if you are happy.

Was recently at Galaxy's Edge for 2 days and tried looking for whatever "seam" you are all talking about and for the life of me I couldn't see it. They looked like the walked off the movie set. No one, not even most 501st member could spot the difference. This debate is a clear case of elitism and "if I had to do it, everyone should have to do it." Just look at the pictures of events and even Celebration, how many FOTKs did/do you see? Exactly, ask yourself why? This is not a request to allow a Rubies custume. We can be inclusive while still maintaining a high standard.

Fingers crossed for a EIB 1500 pin or something

How do those mic tip speakers sound?

I got my Hero from RS as well and mine looks very different size wise. You might want to contact them and see if you can get some pieces remade. Regarding the gloves, keep those for your EIB, but for trooping get black Nomex glove and then hit up @justjoseph63 for a pair of his kick an impolite person hand armor. Follow his instructions for gluing on and you are set. For fans, I recommend this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/525806498/stormtrooper-cooling-system-bracket?ref=yr_purchases For helet padding I'd recommned this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TT68J33/ref=twister_B0BYYMD35F?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RP88B1L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Yes, I've seen several make the inside black without issue. However, once you get all the padding, fans, etc., its almost black LOL

Fixing cracks in TK armor with Aceton
Armor9 replied to Vicky_Velocipanda's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Thank you for this info. Have you ever tried the acetone with PVC? Does it dissolve it as well? Would using a small amount of ABS paste on a PVC armor crack be very noticable? Thanks. -
Good luck with the build. Hope to see you join the ranks soon. Couple of tips. Mark before you cut, and post your marks before you cut. These guys are awesome with speedy replies saying yes or no that your marks looks good or not. Remember, cut less, you can always cut more but can't add it back.

Hello there. I have a RS Props Hero TK and I can confirm that the visability out of the helmet is bad. The mobilitiy is meh as well. I can bend a little at the knees and a little at the waist, but could not crouch to take a picture with a young child. I can do stairs, but I have to walk sideways. Overall very happy with my RS Props TK. If you do order from them, ask them to keep the right thigh ammo strap off and that you will do it yourself. Trust me, you will take me later

LOL Yeah I've seen the post about the V clip and will probably be looking into that soon.

I like this idea, but I've got an edge on my kidney and butt plate so this wouldn't work for me, but I do like it.

Doing the hot water bath, how much risk is there losing the shape of the other parts of the shin? Would you dip the entire shin in or would you just do a part of it? Like the front/sides only, but not the back? Would it be beneficial to use something to line the back up prior to using the heat gun or water bath? My thought is that when heated it will then relax back to the shape with the back lined up. Would a hair dryer be enough heat? What temp do you use for a hot water bath? Does the temp change for ABS vs PVC? Thanks.

I wish I had an answer for you, but I am here to see what people post as a solution as I have this same problem with my RS Props armor as well.
-
How do you get the armor over the hands? Seems like it wouldn't fit through the hole and the hands don't appear removeable.

I am from the Ohio Garrison, unfortunitly I am in the Cleveland area, but let me reach out to the group and see if we do something. Most likely it would not be to borrow armor, but might be able to arrange a visit.

Armor Suppliers - Individual Pieces and Parts?
Armor9 replied to Armor9's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Good news, heard back from RS Props and I'll be able to get these parts in PVC. So that is hurdle one out of the way. Then just attaching ammo rivets correctly will be huddle the next hurdle. -

Armor Suppliers - Individual Pieces and Parts?

The anxiety of doing something that messes it up is dreadful LOL. That is why I had to buy it prebuilt, there is no way I could have taken on that task. I give so much credit to those that can build their own. I'd rather have an extra part on hand in the event I screw up and not need it then need it and not have it and not be able to troop.
