  1. Congrats 1080! Come see me when you’re ready for EI rockers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thank goodness we didn't go the entire month of July without a meme!
  3. LOVE. IT. I know it was scary to trim off that extra material, but it made all the difference in the world! Now bring home that CRL!
  4. I see the points that Glen makes, and I think I agree with them. However, before addressing those I can't help but wonder how the form overall sits on your shoulders. I know you said back in 2023 that the game designer confirmed that the curvature of the pauldron was an artifact of the game, but I'm curious about what bend angle you decided on with your current design. In your first iteration the crest of the bend appeared parallel with the horizon, whereas some of the game/promo imagery shows a downward sloping profile. So nevermind the curve; I'm wondering about the bend slope. Looking further at your other posts, it appears this was actually previous asked here. If one were to replicate a downward slope on the shoulder line, the pauldron would be slightly conical in shape when laid to rest on, say, the floor, as opposed to flat. And btw, what method are you using for closure? Velcro or hooks? But then, of course, you have these images which appear to show a more perfectly level angle. Regardless of this, dude, it's looking GREAT! Someday maybe we'll get a character with a double TD.
  5. Welcome to FISD, Michael! It's always great to hear stories of new recruits joining up after experiencing the work of club members! You're right at home here, and a great many troopers will be here to follow along with your TK journey and assist you with your build. When I first started the assembly of my own kit I amassed an abundance of saved threads which I've now compiled into the resource linked below. Hopefully the wisdom documented by our predecessors in the listed threads can be as helpful to you as they were me!
  6. Welcome, Pax! We have a great team here to help you on your journey to become a real life stormtrooper! If you're eyeing a particular set or armor online, feel free to post it here, or even send it to one of us in a private message if you'd prefer that, and we can provide you with feedback!
  7. Yesss! Let's get that EI badge on your profile (and then a rocker patch on your sleeve)!
  8. Hi Nate - Below is the Legion database profile link that you needed to include with this request, rather than the Legion forum link that you initially used. https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=37075
  9. Congrats trooper; a job well done! I dare say you'll be submitting for Expert Infantry soon, right? Be sure to submit your request to have your forum status updated appropriately so that you can view the full offering of this awesome forum! https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/ Congrats again, Matthew!
  10. Welcome Ravik! You're in the right place for all things stormtrooper related, including Enoch! Have you already started construction of your own 3D printed kit? Below you'll find a link to a resource through for the development of the Enoch CRL (costume reference library), as well as as one of several Enoch build threads here on the forum. Looking forward to seeing your own build!
  11. You're so close, Lucas! Knock out those two items and you'll be EI in no time!
  12. Belated congrats, good sir! Your EI rockers will be out to you shortly!
  13. Looking good! The helmet is always a little tough, and my advise is to go slow. Trim little bits at a time; you can always trim more, but you can’t undo over-trimming. If you attach the pieces of the helmet with screws (rather than rivets), you can always disconnect them and trim more material off the neck opening (or even trim it assembled). Just try to do that before you fit and trim the S-trim that goes on the neck opening. If you cut it to length and then decide to widen the neck opening after the fact, the trim material will be too short. Also in case it’s helpful, most of us put on our helmets sideways, then rotate it to achieve forward alignment. The opening is more wide than deep, which is opposite our head shape. 14. Congrats John! GREAT build you have there! Now time to get you your EI and Centurion rockers.
  15. Welcome Mark! You’re absolutely in the right place for building your very own TK armor! On the one hand, it’s not the faint of heart, but on the other hand, nearly anybody can do it, even without crafting skills. So many veteran troopers have contributed to the amazing wealth of knowledge on this forum, and as Jonatan mentioned, research is key, but luckily whenever you ask a question most likely somebody will respond with ample detail and perhaps even photo references. We’re here to help you on your journey! And also, I’m pretty sure my gloves and flexible hand guards were around $35. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Love it! Lookin’ great, trooper! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Always great to see an EI app, and especially an ESB one too (with the stitched guards too)! Good luck, Angie! You're looking good!
  18. There is no single answer as “white” plastic can be any manner of shades of white. The temperature of white plastic varies by maker, and sometimes even by batch that a maker produces. You might try buying some smaller cans of white to test out and compare. Alternately, bring in some scrap abs plastic to an automotive paint shop and have them produce a color match. Or just paint all your armor, both black and white, with your white paint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Congrats sir, and welcome to EI! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hello Steve, and welcome! Always neat to see a three-digit TKID! OG indeed!
  21. Excellent choice with a stunt build, and either AM or AP will be good and durable armors appropriately sized for you. I believe both those vendors can also provide their helmets preassembled, I’m sure for an added cost. I suspect that your past costuming experiences place you a step ahead of many new builders, such as myself when I first started my journey in 2019. It’s a learning experience for all of us, but FISD is full of so many good resources and helpful troopers, I KNOW you’ll have all the help you’ll need! Once you receive your shiny white plastic you should start a build thread where you post lots of photos and any questions you can ever think of. You can also find some helpful build threads of those specific armor makers on the Resource thread that Mario linked to above; scroll down towards the bottom of the main post before the comments. 22. Welcome, Adam! It's always great to hear for a new TK in the making! Let us know what the factors are in your armor decision, and we can help you out! DDD (AM armor) and AP are known to be able to accommodate regular and larger-sized troopers, while Imperial Surplus and WTF is a better fit for regular or small-sized troopers. Of course, those are generalizations, and nearly all can be sized up or down with some work. Are you leaning towards an ANH-Stunt build, which is what most of us TKs are, or at least start with?
  23. Welcome, Vascod! Let us know what questions you have and we will provide guidance along your journey to become a stormtrooper!
