  1. Here are the small bits: I’m guessing this goes here? I don’t think I’ve seen this separate before. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  2. Ok! Here we go! So I’m very pleased with the TD I got. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  3. Guess what!?!? Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  4. Also interested. Everyone loves pictures! Seems there’s quite a few FOTK builds going on at the same time right now. Pretty exciting. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  5. Well then.. guess I’ll just get to work on my ramen noodle shield parts and disregard my concern! Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  6. I wasn’t aware there was a difference in the screen used riot batons. Hmm.. then maybe the CRL needs to be amended? It states it needs 5 bands. The Hasbro has 4. And here’s the thread I mentioned: Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  7. I thought the Hasbro toy version was not CRL There was a post on another thread that compared the Hasbro version to a more screen accurate 3D printed one. I don’t have the photo saved anymore but the Hasbro version doesn’t have the bands on the extendable part. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  8. I appreciate it. I’ll take all the tips I can! This is my first experience with 3D parts. Want to make sure I only have to mess with these once. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  9. So I wrote 850 Armor Works about his pieces. He says to use filler primer and a light sand.. I went ahead and ordered the epoxy. I feel it needs a little something more than filler primer for strength. I’ll post pics once I get to work on them. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  10. The four small pieces on the shield (lights) seem to be solid, but the strands don’t seems to meld together. I’m afraid if I sand it too much the strands will come loose. This triangle piece is definitely only a few strands thick on the walls. Some of the strands are loose already just by cleaning it up. I’m going to have to add the epoxy to give these items some strength and give me something to sand and mold the shape. A little disappointed in what I got because it seems like a lot of extra work for something that should’ve been printed better. But the whole kit was only $75USD and it’s an item that goes with my Hasbro Riot Baton. Both of which are just being used to carry when blasters aren’t allowed. Granted the shield is more accurate in size, my riot baton won’t be approved due to accuracy. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  11. So.. at least we know that the Sith Trooper armor can’t withstand a lightsaber! Lol And my goodness, they’ve really nailed the graphics. The closeups of all the characters are spot on! I played this game when it first came out. These expansions really make me want to play it again. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  12. So I’ve started to work on these shield pieces.. it seems the PLA strands are all that hold these together. It’s not really a solid object I can sand down to get a smooth finish. As I’m reading, it seems PLA isn’t the best printing material and it’s hard to get a good smooth surface, especially with severe printing striations. Also the triangle piece is sorta hollow. I’ve been reading a little on finishing PLA parts and so far it seems XTC-3D is the way to go. Gives the part a sandable later of epoxy to work with. These parts aren’t highly detailed, so this looks like what I need to do. Can anyone chime in on if I’m heading in the right direction? Are PLA parts really meant to only be a skeleton to work off of? Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  13. I’d definitely be interested if you decide to let them go. In other news, I just got a notification from USPS that my BBB has FINALLY arrived in Denver. I’m guessing I should have it tomorrow or Tuesday! Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  14. What?? I was not aware of this. That’s crazy flexible. Is all of the armor this way? What material is that? Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  15. But they get cool new red armor! Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  16. So weird consider Episode VII and Episode VII both took place during 34 ABY (estimated to be around 2 days between films) yet somehow you see a change in the armor. Episode IX takes place about a year later, 35 ABY, and they still have the same gear. The First Order must’ve had some budget cuts or dumped their money into building new trooper variants. I’m still not convinced the Sith Troopers are part of the First Order. Has this been discussed? I think it’s a separate army altogether, of course purchased from the same supplier, that have been hanging out with Sidious and his fleet of Imperial Starships. I’m kinda hoping for a Sith vs First Order throw down. Trooper vs Trooper would be interesting. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  17. I did specify a TLJ armor kit without helmet when I ordered. I’m pretty sure they adjust the kit for which one you order. I’ll post pics of all of the parts in the coming week once I get my BBB. The main item holding me back on Centurion right now is rubber gaskets. Seems they’re not available. I’ve ordered a set of gaskets and neck seal from Geeky Pink for now. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  18. Well, I definitely appreciate the help from you guys. You and Mr. Rhodes have been a big help! I never would’ve guessed prop building would be so involved! (And so damn expensive!) But it has been fun so far. I appreciate the research needed and also the little bit of creativity needed and allowed for the end result. The one thing I love is the sense of brotherhood and respect everyone has, both on here and the FB pages. Just pure information and honest feedback, with a touch of nerdy fun! It’s refreshing with the state social media is in. Definitely glad I decided to jump on board. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  19. I like the way yours is done. Maybe that and add a grip. What is your black piece made of and how are the straps attached? I’m guessing it’s not on any of your threads is it? Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  20. Basically this. Lol Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  21. Yours looks awesome! Very cleanly done. But I’m guessing it’s a little tough to keep under control is why you’d want to change it? The 850 one looks odd, but very sturdy. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  22. Thanks.. yeah I’ve seen differences in quality of printed items online, but I’m sure it all depends on the printer itself. I’m out of town until Monday for some skiing, but I’ll get to work on those once I get back. I’ll have to see how the trim ring will work on the window portion. It sort of overlaps the edge a bit. Just need to pick up some tinted plexi and try to get it all mounted properly. Another thing is to figure out what to do with the straps. I’ve seen KB Props’ setup. It’s what Ukswrath has. But it looks to me the screen accurate version is just a flat piece of black something with white straps. I was thinking of attaching the straps to an additional piece of abs, then overlaying that with a piece of stiff black foam. Something to keep the armor protected and keep the accuracy. Also thought about adding some magnets if needed. Of course these are just ideas. I’m sure someone (JAFO perhaps) will have some super secret behind the scenes shots of something more accurate! 23. Check out those fins on his forearms. The toy doesn’t have that detail. Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  24. Well my armor is still on the USPS truck somewhere between here and Las Vegas. Called the Post Office and they said it’ll be maybe Monday before I see it. But my shield from 850 finally arrived! I’ve never worked with 3D printed stuff but these pieces will definitely need some work before they’re acceptable. Also, seems that there are some imperfections on the shield itself. Almost like there was some debris on the mold when the piece was pulled. Do I need to sand and skim coat this? Would this require some flexible type putty? Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  25. I swear anything related to Star Wars that comes to my house gets a shipping delay! Out of all of the Christmas gifts I’ve ordered, nothing has been late. But the minute I start waiting on something like my armor and shield... boom, both delayed. The armor is coming via USPS and may be weather related, Las Vegas to Denver. We’ve been getting some heavy snow out west in the mountains (will make for some great skiing this weekend though!) The shield is coming from Florida via FedEx and I have no idea what’s going on there. Hopefully they’ll be here tomorrow. In other news.. I got myself a little early Christmas gift. I love this little guy. A photo of this figure is what made me want to get some armor and join the 501st. He’s a bit tough to pose but the details are so awesome. Here’s to seeing some armor of my own tomorrow! Sent from my iPhone using The Force
