And in the same vein of the rivet paint, you should consider cleaning off the water/mud droplets on your shin pieces. Again, dirty armor is probably pretty screen-accurate, but we tend to like our TKs to look a bit more sleek and clean.

That "weathering" was some leftover from troop #3. didnt notice that before the meetup where i took the pics. had no cleaning supplies at hand there. Mud drops are removed now though (removed em when i took the 3 detail pics you requested at tuesday)

  2. Now the waiting game starts. I'm sure you scratch each passed day off your calendar until the BBB is enroute via UPS. Tip: register for UPS  MyChoice so you can reroute the parcel to a pickup store if you aren't at home at the delivery day.

Thanks. Massively intimidated by the ferocity of accuracy with this build but to be honest my biggest struggle is sourcing bits n pieces in the UK..do you guys have like a secret stash of snaps and poppers and screws somewhere :laugh1:

Maybe poke around the Ongoing sales section. There are a few members selling those components.

Also worth to check out the "getting started" section and especially thios thread:

(you got 2 very good sources of armor in the UK btw)

DEFINITELY!  Most of the time the public just sees white armor, and since the differences can be subtle to the "untrained" eye they rarely notice them.  BUT, as Tom mentioned, once you are familiar with the various types of armor the differences will stand out.  If ESB is your favorite choice, I for one say follow that gut feeling and you can't go wrong!

One thing I would strongly suggest is that you not only look over some of the build threads here, but start your own.  This way, you can ask all the questions you may have (and there will be lots) and post up photos.  Posting photos is very important, and I can't stress that enough.  You can not only show off your progress, but if you have an issue we can better give you more precise information on how to remedy it.  It takes a little extra time, but trust me on this one.

We are here to help every step of the way.

You even manage to spot wardrobe malfunctions in the movies itself. (ESB got 3 that i know of, one must have been a bracket that failed at the AB plate)

I'm a ROTJ and honestly its quite rare that anyone from the public ever notices. And the ROTJ differences are far more pronounced than the ESB.

But once you crossed into the 501st or cosplay territory and learned the details you cannot unsee that. your vision gets recalibrated massively once you end up on forums like this. One year ago stormtroopers were all the same for me, too.

I need to do some more research, what it this "green" plastic?

And for $650 I could get another kit... :-)

I'm sure these are amazing. I hope all that want one get one.

    :smiley-sw013:

The "real" ANH Stunts weren't made out of white ABS but instead out of that weird green HDPE. They were painted then. That we here use white ABS is a durability and usability optimization to prevent paint flaking off and messing up the armor.

  8. Funny crisscross between the galaxies :) (wondering how those ideas are spawning...)

Also: probably using a boba bucket as base, the dent is visible at top right corner of the USPS eagle square
