(Another component is also that many makers do not have websites, since at least in the US, it opens you up to legal liability/receiving a Cease-and-Desist order from the Mouse for profiting off of their unlicensed intellectual property, which they don't take kindly to. UK laws must be different or RS for example must not care, but that's why a lot of the best makers and their contact info are here on the forums, where you at least have to sign in and be actively looking for armor - buying on a whim off a website (or EBAY) is asking to trouble for many different reasons...)

UK is a special case. RS can stay in the open since LucasFilm goofed up on copyright back in 1977. they forgot to register the stormtrooper design correctly. Result was that it was "industrial design" only and copyright expired 15 years after creation. Shepperton was the first one and Lucasfilm wanted to sue that one into oblivion. topic ended on supreme court which told Lucasfilm a firm "NO". thats why there is a safe harbor there.

Anovos website is offline. Looks like we have all lost our money.

lets hope that the lawsuit can "pierce the veil" so their hiding behind a LLC doesnt help. (not sure how simila the rules are compared to germany. If you do intentionally fraudulent stuff the german equivalent to a LLC doesnt protect your private assets at all (and court-ordered de t can't get cleared by a bankruptcy, that debt sticks))

So I take it this is another class action against the manufacturer. One took place over a year ago to try and rectify this situation so I wish you all the best of luck.

First one "fizzled" out due to settlements before the class was certified. No Plaintiffs left = No CLass action.

I would believe also more of a they (Anovos) bought the license rights from the mouse under some condition but they failed to meet those condition or maybe can pay for license renewal that's where it went kaput... Or that's what I think it happen haha don't think Disney will casually give out their license :'(

Pretty sad though.. How the mighty have fallen

Iirc they renewed it after the issues began to start. And whennit was really obvious they should have pulled the emergency brake instead of letting them continue.

On hold currently, Andrew is taking a short break and I am working on a few other projects BUT we will be getting back to this soon.

Did you have an issue with a thread?

just wondered since your "on hold" was tied to newsletter issue. and: might do a backup of all pictures once the restore is done and send those off to archive.org so future restores are easier

    Hi,

The archives are not a public forum, only admins have access.  @Dark CMF put it brilliantly "Yeah, archives are/have always kind of been like the areas behind the scenes in a museum. There is probably some cool stuff there, but it isn't meant for public viewing. That's why the stuff gets archived."

If you can point me to specific thread links we can look at those specifically and see if they should be moved somewhere publicly available.

    Chris FISD DOCG.

Wording should be changed then a bit on the newsletter telling that that part requires staff intervention.

Hey Tom,I have checked permissions for the newsletter archives and they are set so all members can see them, reply but not create new threads within to maintain the integrity of the archive.

Not sure why you can't access them, maybe clear your cache and try again. I did refresh the permissions so I hope that helps. :)

Meant this (https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/43-forum-archives/ ) from the Build threads part of the newsletter

I did exactly that.  I am hoping for a perfect match.  Fitted in between and made the final cuts last night.  I could possibly start on elastics, but I really want to finish the shins.  Then I can concentrate on length and distance of elastics.  Richie suggested near pinching.  I am more prone to Robs suggestions and by the way, God Bless Rob, Simon and crew this evening.  I hope they didn't lose to much although I have no images of their studio condition.  Glad all are safe and unharmed.  Mold loss would be a devastation.

As read elsewhere they luckily had their master molds offsite. That way they can at least restore their business

On the right side (while wearing the helmet) one of the greeblies is actually a functional button for the very (very) bad voice changer. Obviously I recommend not using that voice changer, but that's besides the point.

Those electronic "gimmics" are probably just a "pro-forma" feature so they can slip under the toy license to avoid the mouse being pissed when they step on the toes of the 2 failures. I don't use any od the electronics features on my black series lids. No use when they are mainly for the collection.

    Edit:

Posted a disassembly guide over at the RPF since someone there wanted to know how that is done.
