  1. OK... Forearms and biceps are trimmed. I was nervous as a new slave Leia on the first cut. Can someone confirm cover strip sizes? Front of shins/thighs- 20mm Back of calves/thighs - 25mm Arms - 15mm Once I get those confirmed I can open a tube of E6000! Thanks
  2. I think I like the elbow end better. Looking at the builds there are 11 indentations on the outer forearms. If I trim the way I have mine taped, it will take one of them out.. LOL Bud - I meant as opposed to cutting the entire circumference.
  3. This is from Bud Spaklur's build. It looks like he trimmed the elbow end at a sharp angle instead? https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180811/8a6a57d0336197a0f141bb0ed3d7d1c6.jpg&key=1867342ad674a374a8b058f788359dd68719e42ec121f20fe368ebc942efa86a
  4. Hi everyone... Time to get back to work. Holidays are over, was gone to the Dominican for a week too. The bucket is GTG and I have done the repairs to my blaster (Functional selector switch is in, real steel Sterling SMG trigger is in, "green stuff" filling is in and ready to be sanded and painted. After that I just need to do the counter (I made a lens and have printed #'s for the counter as well). I started some very basic examination of the rest of the armor and I have mocked up the forearms. Question: The inner forearm pieces are significantly shorter than the outer, and I was advised to trim the wrist end. I've lined them up and taped the line to cut. Am I on the right track?
  5. Mark from AP is sending me another set of the stripes, $5 inc shipping. I'll redo them with fresh decals so they're as close to perfect as I can get them.
  6. Not sure why but once again it's telling me I can't paste pictures into a thread. Says I am down to 10kb allowed.
  7. I have 51 different beers in my fridge ATM, so you be the judge :)
  8. Oh crud, but at least it isn't glued yet. Looking at the photo below, I attached the slot that the red line is pointed to and the green slot is hidden inside the helmet. Please tell me that's right or I am going to need to buy more beer.
  9. At least the S Trim stayed on this time! I need to glue that today.... Once I get home from work that is. I'm going to order a spare set anyways JIC.
  10. Moved them up, 1 at a time.... tape trick didn't work sigh.
  11. LOL thanks all. I sent Mark from AP an email asking how much for just the blue sticker set. He's in Canada as well so shipping on something like that should only be about 75 cents. I was doing some quick test fits on the armor and it looks like there won't be much trimming needed. 5'9" is kind of ideal I guess.
  12. Yeah I am going to order a new set of the stickers and move them up.
  13. OK so above you can see the helmet with the brow raised. Upon closer inspection yeah the stripes are a bit low depending on what trooper you look at. Below you can see the ears drilled for the countersinking of the screws.
  14. Yeahhh...the S trim fell off... Didn't glue it, sigh. I have pics but I need to find a spot to host them as I am out of room on here apparently. Getting IMGUR set up now.
  15. Brow is a bit low in these pics but I can adjust it up.
  16. Thanks. Bucket is 99%. Just need to paint the screws white. I think they should just award Centurion to anyone with enough patience to not throw their helmet across the room while installing the S-trim. What a pain! Pics to follow.
  17. "Chicago Screws" = "Double Cap Rivets"? I'm going for Centurion so I want to get it all right. Thanks!
  18. I got a suit from Trooperbay along with the neck seal, which I am having replaced as it was too small (16" when open = 14.5" inner circumference when closed). I have black underarmor/equivilant as well as I also do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I was worried about logos showing though.
  19. Here it is, unboxed. I started painting/decaling the helmet last night and hope to have it finished today, other than the lens and grill. I hate Humbrol paint after being spoiled by years of painting miniatures with acrylics. The paint is still tacky from last night. It's a fully trimmed kit but I am 5'9" and I know AP's kits come large so I am guessing there will be some more adjustment needed. I am going to search for a good, detailed build thread that shows fitting and where each type of fastener is used.
