Hello hello! Few months after my last post, but finally some exciting progress to share! The first batch of my armor has been chromed this week by a Dutch company (the only one in NL that uses Spectrachrome). Ive got their details by contacting Spectrachrome in the US, reached out to them and they were super excited to give this a try. Few months later they had to admit it was a bit more challenging than expected. I'm so excited!! Its so shiny!! Next week we're moving on to the bigger parts. In the meantime, any recommendations on where to buy the boots? I know they need to be jodhpur boots with a little heel, but I also need a way to get my inserts in to get a bit taller :-) Also on the lookout for a baton - any leads? Thanks for reading!

Thank you!! Great advice! Today will be the BIG DAY! Im bringing my armor to the vendor who is going to add on the spectra chrome. They will also do all preparations for it, in total they will give the armor 7 layers (primer to topcoat) to make it supershiny. They will take care of the inside of the costume as well. I will post pictures when I have the kit back.

Love the pics!! Was so great to be there (and finally on the 501st group photo in my TK!) Amazing experience

After browsing the whole internet, researching all ways I could chrome my armor, reaching out to many companies. I was able to find a place where I could chrome my armor with Spectra Chrome - In my opinion the most shiniest and durable way to chrome. So excited! They need to do a back order to get all supplies in and will let me know when they are able to take her in for her shiny upgrade. We agreed that I will visit them and together we will discuss the difficulty of the chroming (all the small parts) and agree on a fixed price. I already have an indication of the costs, its expensive, but definitely worth it. While waiting on the spectra chrome, I’m going to sand and primer the kit, to make sure it’s totally clean with no imperfections. In the meantime, I was able to make photos of the soft parts I currently have. These are all coming from a previous Phasma owner, so unfortunately I do not know the makers of the parts. If you recognize any of it, please let me know! Neckseal: Cape: Shoes: Belt + Belt Boxes: Gloves: Knee Gaskets: Arm Gaskets: Undersuit: Undersuit/gaskets/neckseal/cape: All armor pieces: not everything is in the correct spot I’m thinking of making the inner armor black (with fiberglass, I cannot just leave it the way it is, sooo itchy). What are you all doing on the inside of the armor? Until next update!

Hi everyone, I’m excited to get my Captain Phasma build started and what better way to celebrate with starting a Build Thread. After having an approved ANH Hero Stormtrooper (EIB) and a Transport Security Officer, I finally am ready to give it a go. I started with buying a second hand kit (kit: KB props, helmet: Thorsson) + soft parts. When it came in I realized the chrome was not as good as I hoped, so took of the layers of paint, wrap, primer, more wrap. It was not really workable and gave more headaches then the joy of progress. So I decided to buy a new kit. This time from Jimmiroquai. It arrived this week in the mail and it is gorgeous! I decided to order The Force Awakens kit, together with The Last Jedi addons – I aim to go for TLJ approval (Shiny!) and if that one is a bit battle damaged by the natural way due to trooping I can make the necessary upgrades to TFA if needed. But lets start first with the basics, research, research, research, everything is a little overwhelming. The armor parts are made from fiberglass, my first time working with this material and can confirm everything is itchy after touching the armor. So a good bath with soft soap and lukewarm water helps a bit. It looks like everything fits well, so no major tweaks are needed. My next step will be to set the full armor in primer and wet sand it till it is super clean. Help/advice is very welcome on the following: · I’m currently browsing the forum and FB group to see what the options are to vacuum metallize and even more important if and where I can do this locally and for what costs. The other option is to go for a black super shiny gloss, airbrush it with Liquidchrome and seal it with a clear coat. · Still looking for a vendor who sells the Quicksilver Baton (aluminium preferred). Also happy to hear any advice, feedback, tips or tricks! To be continued!

Hi Guys, Hope all is well! First of all thanks a lot for your feedback @TheSwede It took me a while, having way too much fun trooping, and then the covid-19 virus hit the world. So finally the time to make some new shots. As requested, additional photos! If more photo's are needed, please let me know! Thanks for your time to review this! Much appreciated Laura # Thigh ammo pack - inside fixings. Hurray my ANH Hero TK has just been approved! I’m so happy – a dream come true! I’ve been a huge fan of Star Wars since I was a little girl and was lucky enough to be able to work for Disney when they’ve purchased Lucasfilm a few years ago. While working on the campaigns I've met the lovely people from the Dutch Garrison and before I knew it I was dreaming of creating my own costume. Back in January I was finally able to purchase my kit from TM. I was so happy when my BBB arrived in March! Thank you so much @troopermaster for this gorgeous kit! I was very afraid to touch it, let alone make some cuts, too afraid I would damage something I could not repair. From July until last weekend, it was a roller coaster, blue tape everywhere and not to forget the smell of E6000. I will definitely miss it ; ) If I would do everything over, I wouldn’t fuss so much about the cutting/sanding the perfect lines for the fore arms, biceps, thighs and shins – the cover strips will hide it anyway, and not to mention the many re-cuts you have to do while fitting it to the right size. Big thanks to @VulpX (for getting me started and introduce me into the TK world, we had fun : ) @toxication and Nadia (for the lovely evenings, sharing progress and ideas), @TheSwede & @Frank75139 & @lucnak & @CableGuy (for the super swift responses on my WIP-posts – so happy with your feedback!) and last but not least everyone who contributed to this awesome forum! I’ve spend so many hours reading all tips & tricks, it’s so great to see troopers taking the time to help each other to build awesome costumes. I’m proud to be part of the family, and I’m looking forward to serve the Empire the best way I can. Now moving on to Expert Infantryman

Laura’s 2mm ABS ANH Hero TK build [TM] – aiming for Centurion
Laura replied to Laura's topic in ANH Build Threads
Hi everyone, This weekend was a crazy busy weekend – but I think I’m almost there and ready for basic approval. I did another try in gluing the sniper plate, build/painted the bucket and did a first photoshoot. The photos are not that sharp, but think they give a good idea. Helmet: Things I would like to improve: - The gap between the ears - The thighs can go a bit higher I would love to hear your feedback! -

Thanks @lucnak Yeah I know right - When I glue them on they are good - but they start shifting in the dry process - Need to find a way to keep the corners in to place. Will give it another try tonight. Thanks for the foam idea! Definitely going to try that. -
Laura’s 2mm ABS ANH Hero TK build [TM] – aiming for Centurion
Laura replied to Laura's topic in ANH Build Threads
Hello again! Another busy few days, almost getting there! Belt: Belt is finished – sanded the drop boxes a lot more and this really helped to fit the inner box. Also glued the buttons. I only have to align the snaps to the ab. Thermal Detonator Almost done – Glued the piece together and painted the screws, added some Velcro to the back of the clips so it won’t damage my armor. Only have to bend the end of the clips a bit more. Chest Glued the shoulder straps and strapping – have to align the straps to the ab. Back Glued the strapping – only have to align the straps to the kidney for minimal overlap Ab Split rivets are set and painted white – didn’t make them functional, since I think there will be too much pressure on it. So I glued the strapping separately Also painted the control panels – the grey ones need an extra layer – also have to clean the edges a bit more Kidney + Butt Split rivets are set to the kidney and painted white, also added strapping to kidney and butt Thighs Riveted the ammo thigh box to the right thigh – painted them white Shins Glued the Sniper plate on – although think that it should align better with the ridges – what do you think? Shoulder – Biceps – Fore Arms All ready! Added the strapping – sanded the cover strips to the right size. I did a test shoot (not with all the above changes) to see what would work and what not. OHMY! How hard is it to get yourself dressed – so no not all strapping is strapped (chest to ab, back to kidney, shoulders to strap, thigh garter) This weekend I hope to do a new one – outside with someone helping me Smile On my to do list: - Finish the helmet (ears, paint job, eyes, padding, mesh) - Redo the Sniper plate + add some foam to prevent overlap thighs - Complete strapping on chest/ab and back/kidney - Paint ab control panels grey + clean up edges and glue them on - Add the belt snaps and single male snap to the ab - Bend TD clips at the end - Create garter for thighs - Test all strapping for the right fit – - Biggest challenge to reduce black between kidney and ab – damn those hips – so work out should also be on the list. Any feedback or recommendations are highly appreciated! Stay awesome! -
