  1. Front cover strip is on and the fronts look pretty good. I’d hate to start over there when the end result would still be the same. It really seems like shims will be needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. All, at the Armor party we estimated my shins need 40-50mm give or take. Is that amount of rear cover strip too much for approval? If it is, do I take that, glue to the backside and apply ABS paste at the joint to shim? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Rat is right on all accounts. It is a personal choice alone to not build for Centurion. Another time with another kit for me and no sweat off my back. That being said, if you have more time and patience... go for it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I know... however, after consulting with Garrison members, I’m fine with it. I’d rather go all out on another kit (non Anovos) and take my time on it, not caring if it took a year or two to get there... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Going the industrial strength Velcro route. For someone that may only suit up a few times a year due to time, I think it will be fine. Used E6000 for a little extra stick. Need to do a couple more pieces. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The inferno squad armor party really helped me out. Belt is done, fitted everything, made major headway. Won’t need to shim thighs or shins... barely. Decided I’m going for basic approval. This alleviated stress as my height and torso is not conducive for Storm Troopers with this kit [emoji23] and for my first kit, I am happy with just being approved... Got some ABS strips from trooper bay. Moving the rear shin cover strips to the rear of the thighs for more room, and cutting much larger strips for the shin closures. Going to reinforce the insides of legs and other parts with the ABS I bought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. 25mm might be enough. I’ll know more after the armor party tomorrow I’m sure. My plan is if 25mm work to glue together from the inside with a cover strip then once that sets, lay the 25mm over the outside to hopefully cover about a 20-22mm gap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I will definitely trim down that one cover strip. I guess the question for the rear over strip is what is the widest allowable you can have? It almost just fits. It’s just a tad too small. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Progress.... came out OK. Upset with the gap on the left Thigh at the butt joint. Also... my fears came true... I think I’m headed to shim city on the right thigh. Oddly, the left one seems to fit. Need to think this over before adding the cover strips. Is the left thigh just a larger mold??? Same issue with the right shin... Good thing there is an armor party Saturday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Other halves glued on. Thankful e6000 has a slow bond time and allows you to work with it for a while. These were an absolute pain. Might let it cure longer than 24hrs just to be safe... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I just ordered some from him. I’ll need some for the space I’ll have between abdomen and kidney anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Anovos really needs to sell extra bundles of it. Or someone else Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. And now the thighs. I worry about the cut lines, but I’m sure everyone does the first time. Hopefully in the end it all comes together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. A little more progress. Got the thighs cut as well, so will try and glue a cover strip on those today as well. Once these pieces are done, I think the hardest will be behind me and I can start attaching it all together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Im interested in what they say about the shins as well... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah.... I’m cursed with fat legs, lol. I’m usually a 12 shoe but erred on safety and got 13s. I’m glad I did. Actually, I think it’s the boots giving me the most issues with the fit, but I’ll make it work. Need to figure out the best way to strap down the back, whether it’s bra hooks or magnets... Velcro seems to not be that popular. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Unfortunately I don’t know how successful that would be on my size 13s. They barely fit around the boot as it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Left shin fit test. Now what? Where do I go from here? Doesn’t look I can really afford to cut anything front or back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Make that three. Is my snap setter junk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Ugh... I've ruined two tandy snaps setting them crooked. 1 for 3 on them. Is there some secret?
  21. I might if it’s a necessity... free handing it is somewhat nerve wracking [emoji13] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Some progress is better than none. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I bought Tandy line 24s. I don’t plan on doing any stunts I think one should suffice then. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
