  1. Location: Auburn WA Event: Unlock the Con Date: 10-28-2023 Garrison: Titan Unlock the Con's 2nd attempt at hosting Daniel Logan (Young Boba Fett) and Tom O'Connor (Kenobi Darth Vader Stunt man). Last time around COVID got to them before they could come, but this time was all good! They were great and gracious with everyone that showed up. The location was a collectable shop in the Auburn Mall, which was good because it was 31 degrees F that day, and a TK isn't exactly warm. Being indoors was appreciated! Daniel and Tom shared a lot of great industry stories and really spent time with folks, which was awesome. Tom is the one that looks like I have a blaster to his head. LoL Daniel is on the far right sitting.
  2. Location: Auburn WA Event: Make a Wish Birthday Date: 09-15-2023 Garrison: Titan Got a last minute pop up for a Make a Wish event for a 6 year old boy who'd beat cancer just recently. His wish was to fight Darth Vader, and we needed a couple of TKs to assist, so I signed up. He really was excited and was great watching him clash sabers with our Darth Vader for they day! Whole family was super excited and the school, Make-a-wish people were very gracious. After the 'battle' they were off to Disney World in Florida. So glad the 501st does this work, they wouldn't do this at the park AFAIK.
  3. Location: Seattle WA Event: Yuri's Night Boeing Museum of Flight 2023 Date: 04-09-2023 Garrison: Titan Did a previous Yuri's Night as Vader and it was a ton of fun, but decided to white armor this one. It's a 'dance/night club event' that celebrates sci-fi and Yuri Gagarin's first spaceflight. The museum is really cool at night and a little surreal with all the people in various costumes. Group Photo, had a great set of the mud troopers, Scouts and Pilots! And some dirty rebel scum. Stuck with the Boss through most of the event. Also having a Vader it's good to watch his back, as TKs actually have much better vision than a Vader does. This was the Moon landing display room, and really felt like a "Star Wars" backdrop. The Museum Auditorium is quite a thing at night. We usually wrap up about the time people start drinking and dancing. Staying too long can get very weird real fast, so better to get out of kit and head home. I'm way too old for the night club stuff anymore. Bed is much more appealing.
  4. Location: Seattle WA Event: Emerald City Comic Con 2023 Date: 03-03-2023 and 03-05-2023 Garrison: Titan Emerald City Comic Con 2023 was held in the brand new Seattle Convention Center Expansion building. It was the first event ever held in that building. It's a great layout and FAR better than the older Convention Center. The old Convention Center was a bunch of hallways, escalators, and smaller rooms. The new building has LARGE concourses around the much larger rooms. Our space we pretty well situated and had a nice high ceiling and a 'backstage' area that was very open and cool. Did 4 days in the room, with as an Officer, TK and Vader. Was fun greeting the people coming though. We had lines out in the concourse that were really impressive! Was a surprising amount of Star Wars cosplay going on this year, which is really encouraging! Hopefully we did well on raising funds for Mary Bridge Children's hospital. Will know soon. Did a little roaming, but most of the time guarded the Throne (TK on the left of the picture). Was pretty fun standing still as people came in. Many were unsure if we were mannequins or actual people, so we let them guess a while and then would surprise them. Muahaha Had all types of characters come through. Occasionally the big boss would come around and check in.
  5. Location: Auburn WA Event: Unlock the Con Date: 02-11-2023 Garrison: Titan Raising money for Make a Wish, and helping out a local collectables shop. They were supposed to have a Vader stuntman from Kenobi, but he unfortunately had COVID and cancelled. Still was fun seeing people get surprised as they entered the shop. Lost some weight, and the TK fit much better again!
  6. Location: Seattle WA Event: Buddy Walk Date: 10-02-2022 Garrison: Titan Buddy Walk is a great event for raising awareness of children with Downs Syndrome. Last few years the event has been at Woodland Park Zoo which is a great location and pretty central to the Puget Sound area. Have done Darth Vader before at this event, but noticed that the TKs were far more popular, which is usually the opposite of most events. I'm the TK behind the scout. Was unseasonably warm and sunny here, so the snowy next to me was roasting a little bit! Someday I'll make a snowy for the December and Christmas events, but will need a bigger place than a townhouse to store it.
  7. Location: Seattle WA Event: Seattle Mariners Star Wars Night Date: 06-17-2022 Garrison: Titan Having Mariners night back is always great. Had good turnout in fans and troopers! Was one of the first troops I did as Vader back in 2018, and got to go on the field then. As a TK this time around, was called back out on the field! We had the amazing Josh Beckett and his Chewbacca with us. He got to meet the Book of Boba Fett Black Krrsantan actor on the field as well. That guy was pretty tall in person! Brought the DLT-17 this time, so I'm on the left of Chewy. Little Rey's throw was pretty good. Straight and almost made it to the catcher. Group photo, I'm way in the back. Had a great variety of characters this year!
  8. Location: Seattle WA Event: March of Dimes March for Babies Date: 05-14-2022 Garrison: Titan When the troop is right in your neighborhood it's really hard to turn it down, no matter how bad the weather is. Seattle this year seems to have only 3 seasons, Winter, Summer and Fall. Had some soaking and cold rain early in the morning, so attendance was dampened a bit, but still had a lot of families that have been impacted by illness show up. People that did make it were a lot of fun, but some of the stories were pretty rough to hear. Got a picture with "Darth Vader". First troop with some Mud Troopers which was pretty neat. Very detailed builds.
  9. Location: Kirkland WA Event: May the 4th at the Urban Center Date: 05-04-2022 Garrison: Titan The ubiquitous May the 4th event. This time at the Kirkland Urban Center with a huge donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Was a neat outdoor shopping area that is next to some Google Offices in downtown Kirkland. They had booths, and a Laser show after the sun went down. Plenty of families in their own costumes and Star Wars clothing running around. Was a pretty neat event as the light sabers really added some cool light effects on top of the laser show. Tried to keep the boss safe, but then his son showed up.
  10. Location: Seattle WA Event: Walk for MS Date: 04-24-2022 Garrison: Titan Spring time, and did the first big outdoor event of the year. Could not have asked for better weather! Was the annual Walk for MS, at Gasworks Park in Seattle. Had a pretty good crowd for the first event since COVID restrictions were lifted. Was a lot of fun cheering on people walking for MS and bringing smiles to faces.

  12. Location: Seattle WA Event: Ryther Marathon of Hope Date: 10-16-2021 Garrison: Titan Was a charity for mental health in children, which during COVID is very important. The event was at Greenlake Seattle which is right by my house, so that was nice! We basically collected around the finish line of the marathon and cheered the runners as they finished. Since the Community Center was closed to the public due to the virus, had to suit up in the field, which was a bit harder since there were no chairs or tables we could use to put stuff on. Overall was a lot of fun, but sure wish this pandemic thing would get itself over soon!
