Hey Jimmy welcome to FISD. A TK build is time consuming and expensive. There is no need to rush through things you can take your time the Empire will never fall so there is always time to join. Have you reached out to your local garrison? We can help here online but sometimes is nicer to have some hands on help.

I think you need to get clarification from the GML as to what they want you to do. Is it possible to meet up with the GML? Maybe get some hands on guidance.

Hello, just have a few questions:
With my back piece the corners kind of jut downward, pushing the back plate up when it's resting on the kidney peice, should they be cut down flat?
And another, when I bend my kidney piece, to fit my body as if it is strapped/ being held down by a belt, it gets a bend, how to I remove that? Can I just cut that return edge off? thank you.
Try lifting the back piece up a bit and see if that helps? I’m not quite seeing what you mean with that one.
As for the other question. You can trim the return. Maybe some pics of you wearing it would help. I’m not sure if you said it or not but who is the armor maker?

So with the strapping that goes under the groin, I noticed some people have two silver buttons/rivers, are they required?
You said you were planning on doing basic? There are snaps on the rear posterior plate in the groin which aren’t needed for basic and can be nonfunctioning. You can add them and use them as snaps and it’ll get you one step closer to EIB or Centurion if you choose. i personally use a “parachute buckle” to keep mine together. It’s a preference I’m not a snap fan.

Hi Brian and welcome to the FISD. As mentioned, The MEPD are our dirty brothers and they are the experts in sandtroopers. However, the builds are very similar and there is a ton of info here for general stormtrooper building. Plus, many of us have built both.
As for the backpack, you don't need it for basic approval. You will however need one if you go for upper level approval. As far as just having one for the fun of it... well... that is up to you. The guys at MEPD will probably disown me for saying this, but I find the pack to be too much of a hassle to take on troops, so I have never worn it on a troop.
Well now your not welcomed there or here...

And, here it is. I'm the black pauldron wearing TD playing tight end on the right. We ended up playing 4 downs or so before we were called back. Wish someone had a video...
There is a guy with a huge video camera in the background. You should have gotten his number and asked for a copy.

Welcome to the forums. I do not live anywhere near you I’m in the states but I’m sure we can help you find someone local that can direct you.

There is a Tk on Instagram who runs 5K races in his armor.

They play it off very well though. I’d be pissed off at myself

Looking good. If your gonna trim the shins start off with small amounts. 100 small cuts is better then one big cut too much

I lined my straps with bendable aluminum I got at Home Depot.

I have a 24” shoe horn that helps a lot. It makes it a bit easier with thighs banging around. If the boots are too tight then there are ways to soften the leather. Even wearing them around the house will help.

I've been watching online from various retailers and as from intense lurking here to get a feel for the field. I believe $550 for a complete unfit/trimmed/setup ANOVOS, (also skipping the ANOVOS "process and wait") is a very valid deal. I'll get to see it all in person as well before final purchase, just in case. So all in all is just a golden opportunity to do something i've wanted to do for years.
I agree seems like a nice deal

Apologies for slow reply,
$550, brand new untrimmed. Coming with everything overall. I'll need to get a better blaster, but i've ordered boots from ImperialBoots, and besides the assembly and quality control should be the effort bit, then good to go.
Just wanted to make sure the price was decent, hate to see you get ripped off.

Just out of curiosity. What are you paying for the armor?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Welcome! You’ve gotten some good advice. Measure multiple times and cut once. Make smaller cuts and do lots of sizing in between. You can always cut more off its time consuming but it’ll be worth it. Make a build thread and ask lots of questions. We are all here to help.

Best advice I've heard....wish I could win the lottery and fill my closet with armor instead of clothes
It was a tough sell with the wife but she understood and I don’t troop a ton but I make sure I get use out of both of them. If I went for a third there might be problems.

Thank you for the advice will be taking 5mm off each time till a good fit. Think I should take any more off my thighs?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’d start with some off the shins and see if everything sits better. Personally I feel the thighs are a bit too high. The pic angle makes it look like they are under your cod piece. Ideally you’d want it close but not directly underneath it.

You could shave a bit off the bottom of the shins to give you a bit more room.
Make sure you do the bottom and do a small amount at a time. It might take you forever to get the right size but it’s better then going too far.
