  1. Well, round and round we went with contrasting advice in typical FISD fashion, where the only thing learned was yet again, things can be done multiple ways to achieve the same result if done properly.

    Was it ever fixed?

  2. its not a question of making the hole bigger,  regardless the size of the bit because of the high heat  created when drilling out the rivet the plastic area around the rivet will just melt.

Small bit, slow and steady. If they don’t feel confident they won’t do it.

  3. But should be specified because someone who never did it assumes you just drill out without consequences, even small drill bit creates enough heat to melt plastic especially if plastic is thin.

Ok, I just assumed common sense tells someone that if you use a bit bigger then the rivet, it’ll obviously make the whole bigger, therefore a smaller bit would be adequate. Which would mean if done properly the bit should’t really hit the plastic that much.

  4. So the question comes up often about how to differentiate FISD coins.  Especially the earlier ones.  It is certainly difficult.  Here is a breakdown for everyone on how you can identify what you have.

V1 and V1.1 are the only two versions that have the fist on the back of the coin.  V1 is a larger fist with 3 knuckles showing.  V1.1 has smaller fist with 2 knuckles showing.

V2 and V2.1 are the harder ones to differentiate.  Both started using the E-11s on the back.  Both of them say "First" instead of "1st" on the front of the coin. The real only way to tell them apart is V2.1 has thicker text and the blue on the back of the coin is darker.

2.2 and 2.3 (newer coin).  The easiest way to tell these apart is they both now say "1st" but the 2.3 has a black elbow and the 2.2's arm is all white.

Even after someone reads this I can promise you that it will still seem confusing.  Anyway, I hope this helps you Paul in figuring out what you have.  This goes for everyone else as well.

Maybe you could send me one of each version so I could see it more clearly...

  5. Sadly, I have had little to no luck finding older FISD.  The oldest one I have is the joint FISD/Mos Eisley PD coin.  All my other coins are made late 2018 to present, excluding any of the special versions like Command Staff.  Always looking though.

It’s very hard to start now and get older coins. Nobody wants to trade them for newer coins and the market is flooded with newer coins.

  7. Plain and simple. My name is Frank my badge number is 75-139. It’s just became a “username” for everything. Easy to remember, unique, and meant something.
I was just happy they had it as an actual TK number when I got in.

  8. You won’t be disappointed with AM. I was 5’10” 240lbs when I built mine and trimmed a bit off. I actually went up to about 260 and it still fit. It’s got plenty of room. Make sure to start a build thread. Those of us without builds like watching the fun unfold. And make sure to ask lots of questions we like to help too. Congrats on the purchase and welcome.
