  1. Yeah. The sniper knee. Biggest challenge of my build. The left side is smaller than the return edge of the shin and will never look 100%. Mine is at an angle too from the front view. Couldn't be avoided. My only concern for you is the rather sharp corners I see from the underside shot. You might want to consider rounding them out a little to prevent it from splitting while you try to work it into place again. Here is a shot of where I got mine to after several hot water baths and removing almost the entire return edge on the bottom. I might have trimmed away even more. Looks like you've already done that. I'll get you a pic of my completed knee tomorrow.

Hi Giles. Nice to see somebody else from Saskatoon starting a build!  Welcome!  Check out my build for a comprehensive guide of what not to do :) just kidding. I think I got a couple things right.

Ignore the self deprecating garbage. Greg's build is way better than mine. Full of great info. Way more detailed.

I've learned to look at the armor suits in a whole different way.

Yup. So true. This whole experience has opened my eyes to many things armour related and many things more important. And for that I will always be grateful.

  4. Welcome to FISD Michael. The waiting game is the hardest part. Sometimes expensive. I think the good folks over at Amazon know me by name now. All those little bits and pieces I read about here. Anyway... When your armour arrives make sure to start your build thread, post pics and ask lots of questions. We are here to help you succeed!

    I’ve never seen this either.

For me it wasn't so much on the checklist, I am going for screen accurate. I haven't seen any holsters with the black straps in ANH. I believe in ROTJ the straps are black. But I'm a big ANH fan. It's where it all started for me.

  6. I put my application in for Centurion yesterday. Glad to get this in before I start work on the 29th. Hopefully I won't need to do much or anything to be approved. Fingers crossed.

On a surprising note, I finally got an email from Anovos saying they are finally issuing a refund. It only took 3 months. They are saying I will see it in 2-5 days. I guess on their timeframe that means about another month. Ha. I will believe it when I see it.

How in the world do you people even see that stuff in the movies?! Lol! Like some of the observations you guys make are crazy! (In a good way)

Matt, I watched ANH on New Years Day and saw things I had never seen before after 40 years of watching it (100+ times)! After immersing oneself in 'Stormtrooper Everything' while building, you learn so much and see so much more than you imagined possible.

    p.s. Hi Greg.

  9. I'm loving the 3D printed work on your build. What Brad says about the snap connection for the forearms is a good point. My arms are joined together from the shoulder down and it is tricky to snap the shoulder into place because of the limited range of motion I have. Forearms being separate would make things a whole lot easier when it comes to suiting up.

  10. Yeah, those split rivets. Hard to find for me. I'd like to redo my straps but can't without split rivets. Hmm. I think if we had return edges on our ab to kidney joins the overlap wouldn't happen. Didn't affect my EIB though and nothing was mentioned for Centurion prep comments either. The gap on the split rivet side is clearly visible in my photos as is the overlap. Good tip about roughing up the nylon.
