  1. Are you roughening up the glue side of the magnet with a file or coarse sandpaper? Giving it some kind of mechanical bond as well? Or what about using a strip of thin plastic over the magnets to hold them on? Something like a for sale sign plastic, to help keep them from ripping off the outside overlap Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I have also had some difficulties with the ATA backplate kidney gap. I found I had to shorten the straps holding the back plate to the kidney a little( to keep the gap small), and lengthen the shoulder straps a little to allow the back plate to angle out at the top so the return edges can meet up better. It’s been a trial and error process, as too short a strap between back plate and kidney and the return edges want to overlap at the sides. And too long of shoulder straps will allow the shoulder bells to sag off the arm, and the whole armor to hang too low in the crotch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I recommend just getting different boots from Imperial boots or tk boots Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I have an ATA kit, and have the exact thing on the shins I have had no issues with basic approval and just made EIB The only issue I have, is the left side is very tight and becomes uncomfortable on a long troop. I plan on widening the opening more with a hot water bath and/or heat gun. The entire left side of the ATA kit is considerably smaller than the right. Forearms, biceps, calves etc.... 5. I found it helpful to apply tape to the front side and put the paste on through the back. Peel off the tape after its set up and it’s pretty smooth to clean up Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Thank you! I am working on the back plate kidney gap today. Reshaping some of the outer curve and probably adding straps to the outer edge. Also, I trooped earlier this week, and in the 90 degree heat the Velcro adhesive did not perform 100%. I will be adding snaps to help secure the belt. See you at centurion very soon. 7. Updated pictures: Front Blaster Thank you for your patience. Do I need to edit the original post or can I just post here? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you for the comments so far guys. The belt is only held on with Velcro right now, and it did go on a little high. I can put it on lower so the ab buttons show correctly. I can also add snaps if that is required. The blaster usually pulls that side of the belt lower, but I did not put it in the holster for this photo shoot. Noted on the blaster scope as well. 13. Here are the updated photos I sent to my GML Thank you for everyone’s input and advice. Waiting on a TK number and then I march on to EIB! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Does anyone have experience with imperial boots? How is their sizing? It says to order a size larger, but I’m always dubious of such instructions ordering online. Help please. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Is there a boot source you would recommend? TKBoots has been out of size 10s for a while Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Update: I have fixed a few things suggested here, since I have to retake app photos anyway due to the upside down ab buttons. Might as well address it all. Fixed ab buttons Fixed calf cover strip length Evened out the vocoder, and extended the frown to edge past non drilled hole I shortened the shoulder bell strap by 1/2”, which pulls them in nicely. I also shortened my elastic shoulder straps by 1” which pulls my back higher and helps with some of the kidney overlap problem. I also lengthened the back to kidney straps by 1/4” to allow the two pieces to play well together. This and a little heat bending seems to have helped the problem I illustrated above. I’ll see how it is when I get another full test fit on. My shoulder strap bridges were very short and I was worried about if I had to cut off the big box on the back they might not be long enough.-as per the hijacking of this thread- But by shortening the elastic strap, it gives plenty should my GML tell me to cut it off. It also helps the shoulder bells sit better with the torso. I don’t have pics of these last things yet, but look for them when I retake pics later. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. This sounds like a discussion that needed to happen. I’m gonna leave my bridges alone for now. I can always cut them off. I can’t cut them back on. I’ll wait to see what my GML says and anyone on the road to centurion Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I have a little problem with how the back connects to the kidney on the right side. It’s either overlapping in an off center way or wanting to tuck behind. I might try to use boiling water to gently reshape the bottom of the back. What do you think? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I see what you’re talking about. I have not done anything to secure my brow strip in place. I was thinking a little dab of e6000 in a couple spots. It looks like my brow strip is a little loose and not reaching all the way to the edge of the trap. You can see a little droop in the strip over the eye. I’ll try to fix this by tightening it first then look into paint removal if it doesn’t do the job. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. My 4 ab buttons are on upside down I dunno how I missed that... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
